Great Article. It just shows how quickly Google is becoming a global enterprise right under the nose of all the other huge companies such as Microsoft.
The idea of a private school regulating student activity outside of school is not unheard of and there is a long tradition in it...
Sigh. I went to private school. They never pulled a bullshit move like this. They did make suggestions on what we should and shouldn't be doing outside of school, but they never enforced it.
To me, this is like drug testing in school. Basically the school is saying what you do outside of school is our buisness. When, in reality, it is not their buisness in any way, shape, or form what a student does on their own free time. Any statements otherwise, such as the ones in this article, can, and will, be taken as a act of Facism and Retardism par the anti-freedom act of the Bush Administration (2004).
Welcome to Theocracy. Leave your open-mindedness and revolutionary scientific theories at the gates of Hitler.
The real reason Microsoft, and Intel, are support HD-DVD over Blu-Ray is simply because HD-DVD is cheaper and more cost effective. Other than being slightly more expensive, the Blu-Ray technology is light years better than HD-DVD's best wet dream.
What's sad is when other companies such as Google release TV-Related technologies in the future, people will claim they are copying Apple. When, in fact, TV downloads is something people have been talking and gossiping about all year. The fact that Apple did it first is cool, but you can expect this to just be a small step in the downloadable media craize of '06
Sony usually makes pretty reliable hardware, too. Although I guess they have been falling back lately. Panasonic seems to be stealing most of their thunder, especially in the TV market.
Hopefully soon Open Office will have better support for Microsoft's Office formats.

I guess I wouldn't fall under the "most geeks" category then...
Red Hat?
I think they should have used ubuntu
I'd feel really geeky after doing something like that.
... now I feel geeky again.
Kind of like the feeling I got when I made a PHP script to automatically download my pr0n.
What would the affect be on sea life?
More proof that zombies are flaming homosexuals.....
Oh, wait... wrong meeting.
Duh?

You have entered the anti-Twilight Zone.
With all these Google-related articles now days, why not just make a new Slashdot section?
I now endorse google.slashdot!
You do have to consider the fact that zombies are real. So in a sense they are advocating slavery.
(Not really, I just had to make a point)
Yeah. Their bandwidth has been officially raped and burned.

I can see the smoke coming from the wikipedia servers from here. Damn.
I always found Wikipedia to be of exellent quality. Fail to see where the quality is lacking.

We should make a /. dupe theme song!
It was the Irishmen!
I think it's a great idea. The US should do something like this, though it's obvious they won't.
Wonder what the expiration date was.
True, but at full scale it would be considered 'giant'. Or, atleast, 8 inches?
Makes you wonder where they get the ideas from. Hypothetically speaking, I'd probably mark my chip with a giant penis. Why? The world may never know.
Yeah. It's sad, isn't it? We live in a world where finding more advanced ways of killing people is more important than understanding the universe.
Sounds interesting. Unfortunetly their has smoke comeing out of it. I would have expected more from MIT! Oh well
