This seriously would have sucked when I was selling stormshields, etc. on ebay three years ago.
The only way the gvmt is going to even attempt to regulate this is if they weed their way into Ebay/paypal and monitor stuff from the inside.
This seems like the latest step in the DVD/movie industry backklash against the "media center" type computer. In lieu of buying a bunch of different components, I just have my cable and computer hooked up to a nice LCD tv. No need to buy expensive audio/video recievers (plenty of inputs on the TV/using the computer to multichannel the audio), no need to buy a DVD player, DVR, or soundsystem besides the solid 5.1 setup I invested in 4 years ago.
These companies are forcing DRM to make you buy their new sparkly DVD player, or invest in their overpriced TV/DVD combo. They certainly don't want you use and all-in-one.
I bought a 15" LCD HDTV for a few different reasons, I had a decent sized (27") CRT TV in the living room already, and a 5 year old bulky 13" TV from college in my room (which I was replacing). I wanted to maximize space and get something that will still be useful in the future (in 10 years I can see this TV being mounted in the wall in my bathroom.) It's useful as a midrange computer monitor with cable TV picture in picture while surfing the web, and HD cable is only a $5 a month more.
Going HD is 100% worth it if you're buying new stuff, but if you're content with what you've got, stick with it.
As well as Getto Pop Life with Jemini (sp)... I think these people are just so reactionary to something hitting #1 that they won't stop to realize that it's not the usual pandered, record-company assembled, carbon copy garbage. Danger Mouse is part of a group of select few hip-hop artists that are not just making posturing gangster-anger anthems, they are reviving a rather stagnant industry.
The underground hip-hop scene is amazing right now.
i have no idea why this made me spit my coffee onto my monitor laughing, but it did.
now my xml is all caffiene-y

First year I haven't gone out on St. Patrick's day (been in Boston for 4). I must say, having people over for Green Margaritas and DDR was much better than wading through the mass of BU/BC dudeguys in Allston like I usually do.
I buy flesh-colored earplugs and cut them off at the half or 3/4 and throw them in at the bathroom when I first get somewhere going out. It's not like it's any harder to hear people yell, and my hair goes conveniently over my ears now. None of my friends want to do this, and I cannot understand why. I do not enjoy being deaf at work the next day.
a country music star from Texas
Kevin Spacey's birth name
more doctors than you can shake a stick at
25 pages of crap
I assume at some point, my slashdot posts.
2 fluff articles about me in the local paper from high school
All clear.
I look EXACTLY like 2 other people with my name who live somewhat close.
Considering how long I feel like I've been using Oldversions to stay with my favorite/most stable builds of programs... was this kid a fetus when he started it?
In all seriousness, that place saved my life when I was stuck with WinME for a year in college and the school mail program conflicted with everything. The no ad and non-resource hog (I'm looking at you, Winamp and iTunes) versions of programs are the way to go.
AM radio sucks up interference easily. When I want to listen to sports radio instead of the iPod, I can tell every time someone within 10 feet of me gets a text message or call. It's a nice discreet REAACHACHAHHEHRTAHAHHAHAHACHHCHCCCT noise.
I'm not into suing. I am into not supporting buildings that use additional measures to block signals. If I didn't have a signal in there because of architechture... meh. So be it. I would have been on damage control instead of prevention.
I am paranoid about something happening to the girlfriend or the kittens and not getting there in time.
ed note: it sounds like he died, he didn't. He was just really afraid of going to a hospital and dying. I just worded it awkwardly and haven't had enough coffee today.
The easier it is to blog, the easier it is to post crap. I'm not insisting that knowing how to effectively present a blog means you're a good writer, but the expansion of the (ugh) "blogosphere" can only lead to more unmitigated crap.
I love it when the same net service I've been paying increasing amounts for over 3 years gets progressively slower and less reliable... and now they want to charge me MORE for LESS than I was getting 3 years ago?
I get better connections when my wifi slides to my neighbor's signal (different carrier). Let's punish the power user for attempting to utilize what they paid for.
On the back of the Mario 3 box there was a shot from a level prominently showing Para Beetles in the clouds. This level was not in the game. It made me so angry. fast forward ten years and I get a rom of the "lost levels of mario 3". and there it was....And the level sucked.
I like Planetside. Working towards a higher battlefield command rank (where the top doesn't get stagnant, it actually affords more control) actually has more oomph.

Dear Google, Thanks for the 25 million junior bacon cheeseburgers. I hope you like getting sued. -The management

You post an article on slashdot.
Reporting something to Google doesn't get you pageviews.

Get http://www.stepmania.com/ and get a USB ddr pad. Totally worth it.
profit indeed. especially when you buy one pad and get her so hooked she buys the other one.
and the beer
Since when did Slashdot briefs read like Pitchfork Record reviews?
I feel like your comment is creating a negative aura in the synergy of the Slashdot community.
Lois, I find this meatloaf rather shallow and pedantic

And you get XP for shooting people!
