I had a pile of friends over for New Years eve. There have been three couples that have now picked up a Wii due the entertainment had that evening. All of them said they had a hard time finding one, but it's slowly getting easier. Shipments are more frequent and of larger quantity.
Very true. I was fairly young the first time I attempted it. I went back a year or two ago to give it another try and found it to be fairly enjoyable. The only real problem that I have with Myst is the musical puzzle. I'm completely tone deaf.:(
You missed the point. In Baldur's Gate, you actually meet the antagonist early on and he basically laughs at you. Personally, you'd shit your pants if you were in your characters situation. You eventually grow stronger through your travels and come to face the enemy. The difference is that you've grown. You're no longer an ant. What would be the point of the game if you could kill the antagonist in the first 10 minutes? People need a sense of progression to keep them interested.
"How hard is it to jump into god mode and cruise around, or jump levels"
FF12 is running about 150-170 hours on average. Even if you were to enable god mode, you'll still be required to play through a good amount of battles and ALL of the storyline. You're probably looking at a minimum of 80-100 hours.
"But the fact that he was stopped will stop senators from proposing far-reaching legislation."
No, I'm afraid you're completely 100% wrong on this. It may be an incentive to leave games alone, but there's nothing preventing them from passing another law. They've already "proved" that games are dangerous to children. Why not ban them entirely? It's important to leave rating to an independent organization that is free from governmental interference. It's important to keep in mind the members of congress are not representing what is best for the people, they're trying to stay in office.
Personally, I believe that any 'think of the children' law should be held in extreme suspect.
Perhaps the FCC? Lord knows they never screwed over any media format. The problem is, everything gets screwed up any time a governmental agency gets involved. We don't need more laws, we need parents to keep an eye on their own kids.
I'm in a similar boat. I bought a Wii and DS:Lite since my wife is a non-gamer. Between those two and the upcoming PC releases (Supreme Commander, Stalker, Fallout 3?), I'm pretty much set. I'm actually have more titles for the DS right now than I have time to play. It doesn't help that my wife won't stop playing New Super Mario Brothers either.:)
Sorry, I forgot about the PS3 launching in Europe. Kind of like Sony actually...
Take a breath and realize that I'm teasing you. I genuinely did forget that the PS3 has not launched over there yet. This is mostly due to the fact that I'm not interested in spending $600 for a game machine and all of my movies are standard dvds run in a up converting dvd player. If you're still looking to insult me for forgetting about the last launch, you could always make some comment about my dead mother.
I simply do not have the time to invest to become 'l33t'. Why should I spend countless hours to try to 'pwn' a bunch of whining little 12 year old punks? I'll enjoy my single player experience and some multiplayer when my friends are over.
Disclaimer: Anecdotal evidence.
I was at Best Buy on Sunday to pick up Hotel Dusk. Out of the eight people in line, five had 360s. One of which had every single 360 accessory that they stocked. I'm not sure if people are getting their tax refunds early or what, but that was a hell of a lot of 360s. On a side note, there were two PS3s sitting on the shelf.
Did you even read the post? As I said, I don't care how long is in development for. I really don't care to hear about it until it's relatively close to release. I don't have the time or interest to follow every detail of a game for years on end only to have it canceled.
EB/Gamestop isn't the only one to implement harsh penalties. Several restaurant chains fire the employee, bartender, manager and regional manager for selling liquor to minors. Extreme? Maybe. But you don't see many minors getting served in a restaurant.
It's not that the development has been to long, it's that we've been hearing about the thing constantly for the last year and a half! The phrase "Shit or get off the pot" has never been more appropriate.
If they truly saw each life as a problem, they would have killed themselves or others by now. I think they see OTHER human lives as the problem because they are self absorbed SOBs not fit to walk among other decent human beings.
If you're looking for capacity, you can buy an external USB HD. I really don't understand the 'more capacity FTW!!!!' mentality. I hope they both fail so we can move on to streaming video.
Try to steal from the first form. Have everyone defend and have Edge steal the dark matter. Zeromus will counter attack any time you attack, but will generally leave you alone if you stop. The only exception to that is the Big Bang attack. If you get smacked, stop attacking and heal up. Also, throw any large weapons that you don't have equipped. Eg. Excaliber, the spoon, etc.
I'm playing FFIV:Advance on my DS and I found that fight to be quite a bit easier than I remembered. I'm probably quite a bit more higher leveled than I was when I originally played it. Good times.
I would agree, but I actually did manage to get past it on the original NES. Granted, I did toss the controller more than a few times, but very satisfying in the end. I really don't have that sort of patience anymore.
Unfortunately, I expect that you will be proven right. I was initially excited to hear that Fallout 3 was picked up for development, but Oblivion has made it difficult for me to maintain any hope at all. That and the fact that they have had over two years and we haven't heard a word.
I'd disagree about Gears of War. Just about any recent release on the PC will beat it. Your point is still valid though.

Agreed. The putting killed golf for me.

Agreed. I still have all of my hand written notes on the lizard language, runes, quests, clues, etc. Great game. :)

Last I heard, FF12 was taking upwards of 150-170 hours to complete. That's just the game itself, not including optional bosses.

Blazing Angels for the Wii comes out in two weeks. Not sure if it will be great, but it looks very entertaining.

Pre-order? I saw two at Best Buy on Sunday. Granted, this in anecdotal, but it seems consistent in most major cities.

Adventure games are alive and well on the PC. I just finished Safecracker and found it to be fairly enjoyable. Granted, these aren't AAA games, but they're still out there if you look around a little. http://www.amazon.com/Dreamcatcher-Interactive-Saf ecracker/dp/B000GUNAOW/sr=1-1/qid=1170882598/ref=p d_bbs_sr_1/105-9363391-4843657?ie=UTF8&s=videogame s
