I always thought it would be nice to have some sort of hard identification on the internet. It could be good for tracking down those "juvenile predators" we hear about and stuff like that.
If this test succeeds then ALOT of things that are considered throy can finally be taken seriously and we could see many many new advances in physics.
I mean.. with a fourth dimension nearly proved... what about a fifth dimension? What dimension is time? If time is a dimension then what lies outside of time?
I figure a geek is osmeone who can understand technology rather than use technology.
The "mainstream" geek now is someone who collects "gadgets" or buys alienwares highend system and likes to rattle off whats inside but couldn't actually build it himself.
Perhaps he can install windows or fedora. But he probably can't install gentoo.
He can build a website with dreamweaver, or frontpage, and he knows HTML, but if you gave him VI he wouldn't really know where to start.
The difference between a "mainstream geek" and a real geek, is the real geek understands whats behind what he does. If he doesn't know something he can probably figure it out because he's familiar with the inner workings of somethign familiar.

I encounter the same problem. There is so much out there that it can be frustrating for a web developer.
Personally I felt that age of simple web pages slipped away when javascript started becoming popular.
Now to be a web developer its gotten to the point that its difficult to know fewer than 3-4 languages. And its nearly on par with desktop development; but soon will be the day when desktop and internet will be seamless.
With topics such as euthanasia and questions like "quality of life" today.. I'm wondering who would want to live that long? Unless there was some serious break through in actually staying younger longer rather than living longer.. I'm wondering how long life would actually benefit people.
Don't take this as an ID arguement.. but it seems like death has more too it than.... death. Heck.. I don't want to be an old feeble man..
The intgernet is fairly impregnable in its nature...
Until we learn to harm/kill over the internet anyway.

I don't have much advice other than go AMD, its easier to find compatible parts.

I'd reccomend Motorola... thats what I use... it does require NDISwrapper, but it uses the standard broadcom driver and sets up in like five minutes.

I don't really like that they are giving you mp3s. 90% of the reason I buy the actual disc is because i like to have it as a hard copy.
