I have been playing since it was released (not the collectors early release) and I have found it quite enjoyable. The main thing I have a problem with right now is the bazaar-only system. They really need to implement an auction house. I've left my game logged in overnight several times just to sell off some inventory, because the market wards just seem too cumbersome to actually use them. I'm sure my video card loves that... and high pop servers probably appreciate the associated lag of loading everyone's character model etc. Another thing they ought to do is give us recipe books. The crafting system is intricate enough without having to go to a 3rd party website to look up mats for everything you want to craft. Love how crafting damages your gear too.
I figure they have until WoW:Cataclysm comes out to sink or swim, at least for me.
I turned mine on last week, and the graphics went all "watercolor", like it was running in a color mode below that of the norm. The sound still works, but now when I turn it on it just goes to a sort of 'pink snow'. It sounds like it is running fine, but unaware of its video output problems. I think it is just past the extra warranty I bought at Best Buy (knowing it was a Microsoft product, I opted for the extra insurance) so I don't know if I am on my own as of yet or not. The only reason I would consider buying a new console is because I got suckered into buying the HD-DVD drive for 200 bucks before the war was "won" by blu-ray and I have a decent collection of discs for it.
Does the furniture in your workplace consist of folding chairs and tables?
These duct tape and popsicle stick type projects tend to become maintenance nightmares...
Also the MDAC was patched more than a year ago. Why weren't the patches applied?
I'll wager that it is the same camp of people who wait until they are absolutely forced to install service packs, because they don't want them to break their applications. Nothing worse than someone putting that bug in a small business "IT person's" ear... next thing you know none of their desktops have XP service pack 2 installed because they "heard it would break stuff"...
I was using vista on my laptop, an athlon 64 dual core with 2GB ram. All I used it for was playing WoW when I'd go to my gf's house, and after several rounds of BSOD's with no solution in sight, I did a little searching and found that I could in fact install XP on there by using a quadro driver for the onboard nvidia graphics. (the vendor did not list any XP compatible drivers, but apparently it has the same motherboard in it as another model).
Now, I no longer have to run WoW at 1024x768 but can run at 1280x800 widescreen, with all the mods I want and it flows effortlessly where before it would chop and lag horribly.
Vista is pretty, yeah, but I need my laptop to do more than sit there like a prom queen;-) When I hear of them fixing the performance, I might consider switching it back.
file sharing is sharing 'game types' like one we used to play called "President" (rocket launchers only lol) or game clips when you pwn people uberly, killtaculars for instance
I have had issues with things like.gconf/ and.gnome/ being created by different versions of software(migrated from centos 4 to fedorka core 6, most recently), like the desktop locking up constantly. I usually just rsync it over into/home/oldhome and dig through the trees of home directories though, grab my.xchat2/ and such things as I see fit... but yeah, the.bashrc and other simple files work just fine. servers shouldn't have such a problem, just graphical workstations are the one's I have had problems with.
more like =3 O-:
that is my teabag emoticon for the uninitiated...
I am kind of pissed that I bought the premium, and NOW they are coming out w/ an HDMI version. How about another adapter to convert the existing premium systems output to HDMI? I swear, between the external HD-DVD drive, and the extra fans that conveniently clip on the back, my 360 is getting more and more Frankenstein by the day... WTT Xbox 360 premium for PS3, PST!!! I will even throw in my games...
LMAO, if only I had mod points... that is an awesome end of the world flash animation...
But seriously, f*$k Walmart anyway, if they only want to cater to the internet exploder using drones then so be it.
yes, there is a maul in the game, as well as battle axes and katanas, a high powered lawnmower, guitars, boomerangs, golf clubs (which I would have rather not had it be a ranged weapon, you hit golf balls at the zombies with it), 2x4s, propane tanks, potted plants, trash cans, televisions, cash registers, hunting knives, guns, police night sticks, severed limbs (that you can shove in zombies mouths to distract them for a few), parasols, skateboards, lead pipes, dumbbells, super soakers, nerf ball guns, jewels (another range weapon), and many many others. My all time favorite is the louisville slugger, you can hold down the attack button and wait until the zombies get close, and slam the crap out of them for extra points:D
that game is teh awesome but I haven't played it since the accursed WoW xpac came out...
but probably a typo, given the structure of the statement. I have yet to find a chainsaw myself, but I have heard you can remove the machine gun from the jeep if you kill the 3 escaped convicts that are riding around on it, trying to kill you in the courtyard after it gets dark on the first night...
I agree. I took a couple months off before the expansion, partly due to the growing boredom with the same old content, among other things. This expansion is VERY refreshing, with metric asstons of new content and features. Despite the server crashes...
I think there is a lot of juice in this orange they haven't squeezed out yet, and there would be no real logic in releasing another MMO like warcraft, at least until they start seeing a dramatic drop in their subscription base. A starcraft MMO, IMHO would probably be released to coincide with Stargate Worlds
I think the manufacturers are all using the upcoming holiday shopping season as leverage to jack up the prices of the few 'precious' blu-ray players that will be 'available'. Reminds me of that retarded Elmo toy craze that went on a few years ago. I expect ebay to be ball-deep in $1000+ blu-ray players, etc. and then they will announce the new technology they developed that will obsolete the blu-ray in 6 months.
Try it yourself: make sure automatic phishing detection is turned on and do an (adorable) image search; click on one of the result thumbnails. I wonder how many slashdotters this "AC" will trick into installing IE7...
I picked up a book on building tiny robots out of old electronics (walkman tape players and such). Some of the huge book stores carry these types of books in the miscellaneous computer section. I haven't built any yet but plan to start tinkering soon.
yeah that Ony chain was a pain in the ass. I find it fun still with 39 days/played on my main over the past year. We took a pretty bad hit when several of our key well-geared people decided to/gquit and start their own guild, but part of the fun was rebuilding our team and getting back up to full MC clears in ~4 hours. Hopefully soon we'll be back in BWL
gonna be one HELL of an afterparty... know what I mean?

Tornado was Saturday. I live on the other side of the James River from Surry.

"some insist that money 'will have no meaning in a future dominated by advanced molecular manufacturing or other engines of mega-abundance.'"
yeah, like flying cars and anti-gravity belts, right? :-P

Milla Jovovich as Faye Valentine, she played a pretty good ass-kicker in resident evil...

maybe a verizon broadband access card? they sell it in usb format too... 5GB monthly cap is kinda small though so it might not suit your needs.
or just use tcp_wrappers...

the processor architecture is what's important, when you are compiling code to run on the system.
