Forget the WRT54G. Even the lowly Etherkiller does a better job. Sure, it doesn't provide NAT, DMZ, VPN, port forwarding, or even wireless card support, but once you plug one of these babies into your Ethernet card, it will "physically keep threats away from your PC"... at a fraction of the cost! You don't even need to keep it plugged in!
Hmm, so you're using aluminum to turn water momentarily into hydrogen, only to turn it back into water moments later through combustion? What did you need the hydrogen for then? You're RIGHT. Why not just burn water? Then it'll turn into steam, which we can use to power... oh wait.;)
A wireless thermometer is just a sensor. This robot *does do onboard signal processing to help it navigate. From the popsci article:
Human operators can upload a basic mission plan, which the robot's circuit-board brain fine-tunes as it encounters damaged cable.
You could argue that the piracy of IP started with the Declaration of Independence. Imagine if Thomas Jefferson had been arrested and sent to trial for infringing the copyright on John Locke's Second Treatise of Government.
As a high school student, I think the sort of required busywork they give just makes students dislike the subject even more. But that isn't to say you're wrong... personally I think that's a great suggestion;)
Now of course, greater bandwidth is cool and all, but 14 Tbps is obviously impractical for actual use, even in specialist medical imaging applications -- for the simple reason you couldn't fill up your harddrive (or even RAM) as quick as that!
You could probably find an application for it in the main Internet backbone.
having a unified software base is nice... but kind of hardware will it control? pretty much any standard motherboard couldn't control a robot right out of the box. it'd need motor controllers and servo outputs and stuff.
doesnt it seem like they're just building extensions into firefox and calling it something else? this isnt really something new: del.icio.us photobucket flickr sage rss reader

Okay, I had a girlfriend

Mount the laser cannon within a mirror, so the reflections can bounce straight back. IN your face, insurgents!
I don't understand how this device, which uses an "electrostatic fluid accelerator," is different from this "electrostatic precipitator."

dont you mean de_dust?
Black and white?! Nice... it's, like, the exact same layout, but it looks more like art! omg!
Unless there's some clever way to do these mechanically, these devices are going to consume standby power themselves.

Jet-powered supercooler.
Be polite, supportive, and encouraging. The user should never feel condescended to, blamed, or intimidated.
why don't we just take the freaking safety labels off and let the n00bs get hax0r3d?
Long ago Romans learned it was a god.
Technically, the Romans didn't know Pluto (the celestial body) existed. It was discovered in the 1900s.
i'm sure i've seen one of these before
They need them for serving news, mail, maps, satellite imagery, images (which include cached thumbnails), video, and of course, text ads.
this list is far from complete
If you read TFA... the sail is supposed to assist, not power it. The engine should be running.

This is so exciting. What's next, videos of slashdotted sites loading?
The label will spell out clearly just how easy it is to copy media
I'd suggest a color coded advisory system.
I thought the register considered itself a somewhat legitimate news entity
well, with articles like this...
