Yup. Can certainly attest to this as I'm currently browsing, emailing and developing from my notebook connected to the power and wireless IP modem at my favorite cafe. They are happy to let me sit here in the corner and do this, quite possibly because I buy coffee.
I don't know about you but if Microsoft is looking through their code to identify portions that can be Open Sourced then it may also be an opportune time for them to also identify and fix any bugs they discover. Of course they could also use this time to also remove an patent/copyright (hint hint) infringing code before they release too.
So don't expect much in the way of really useful stuff anytime soon.
Also he wrote about it in "Fountains of Paradise". We can always hope that he will be around for the opening and first lift of the "Space Elevator". I also eagerly await the "The Trigger" and "The Light of Other Days" (has been observed now) concepts to become reality.
I use a site called EveryDNS [http://www.everydns.net/] and have found them to be very good. Allow all manner of changes to records plus have 4 DNS servers not all in the same area. Read as failover. David and David have spent some time putting together a good usable system. You can even have Dynamic DNS services. They are others like Zoneedit but EveryDNS is free or donation based. I've not had a single problem with any of the domains I have with them.
Looks like it's being spread using an old mailing list that one of my email addresses is on. Sent using my email address to someone at the University of Arkansas. Bounced back with the virus attached but quarantined. Sent Mon, 26 Jan 2004 19:31:04 -0600 (CST)
Just noticed that there's also stiching going horizontally, but not straight, just below the large rock. And if you try line up the left portion with the right portion by shifting it up a little then the bottom stitch of the left portion ends up completely wrong? So now we are looking at four separate images that won't line up correctly?
Fourth quarter earnings will show a revenue of 1 billion dollars from litigation of company using Linux and a writeoff of 1 billion dollars worth of shares.

Seen this before. Make false allegations to push up the share price and then once you've got it as far as your bean counter thinks is possible then apply to drop the charges.
I just received an email from my mail server saying it had blocked an email containing "Worm.Gibe.F". It's got a text version of the exact update notice in this article. Good to see that my server admin is keeping the virus sigs updated.:-)
I remember something like this quite a while back. Xerox was developing it but having problems with bleading of the light from the display cells. I suggested that maybe they could use blinkers similar to the ones put on race horses to stop them freaking out about things in their peripheral vision. Also suggested that this would be a great thing for Net kiosks. Don't have a clue where they got to with the device though.

Don't forget OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org), Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net), The Gimp (http://www.gimp.org), Virtual Dub (http://www.virtualdub.org) and possibly Blender3d (http://www.blender3d.com) when it gets released. Although Blender may be a bit above their heads to start with but the others are all easy enough to use.
I would really like to see a movie made based on the book "Fountains on Paradise" by Arthur C. Clarke. This book uses technology which has just become a reality and is even being considered as a viable way to get out to space with less effort. If the story did get transformed into a movie then it might spur on some more development into the exploration of space and funding of projects of the like.
What concerns me most is that if you have cloned organs in your body from animals like pigs or cows or whatever then, will you also have to watch what you consume and be careful that you don't get to close to animals that are sick?

All good I think.

That reponse letter is damn wonderful, to the point. I wonder if Gavin would allow us to use it when we receive our Licensing Fee threat.
What do you say Gavin?

More noticeable in the larger image.
Also there's a mountain in the background. Does anyone know where that is relative to the landing spot?

Noticed a vertical stitch in the images. I thought the images were single shots. Are they partial panorama shots instead?

'Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
'That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the Cat.
'I don't much care where-' said Alice.
'Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.
'-so long as I get SOMEWHERE,' Alice added as an explanation.
'Oh, you're sure to do that,' said the Cat, 'if you only walk long enough.'

If things don't work out with the refund from vendors then maybe MandrakeSoft's "Operating System Refugee" Offer can help out.
It's not going to give you any real money back but at least you get a full distro with manuals. Might be good for newbies.
Sounds like the same problem with the US Patents Office.
They should pay them on the number of patents thrown out.

Maybe the Fink project at sourceforge will help in respect to MOL.
