Any chrome or metal coating added to a missile or shell that is designed to increase reflectivity, will (very likely) increase the radar reflectivity of the object. That may have the unintended consequence of making the object more susceptible to standard intercept missiles which use radar guidance. It will be difficult to defend against both defensive possibilities, giving flexibility on the tactical side in which method (laser, radar guidance) is most effective.

Multiplayer WiC is amazing. The games are not long and drawn out. In fact, it is the opposite. Combat starts in as little as 15 seconds after the game begins, and the maximum round time on an official server is 20 minutes. As the game progresses, Tactical Aid points are awarded for kills and achieving objectives. These result in increasingly significant strategic attacks available, up to and including carpet bombing and nuclear weapons, which can end a round in minutes if used properly.

If I remember correctly, Comcast says that something like 1% of the user base causes 15% of the bandwidth, etc. Therefore, they throttle the thing that takes up the most bandwidth (torrents), in the name of helping out all the other users.

  20. Re:Encrypt Everything on Comcast Confirmed as Discriminating Against FileSharing Traffic · · Score: 1

Encryption won't solve the problem. For example, Rogers Communications in Canada throttles all encrypted traffic. Also, traffic pattern analysis can determine if an application is similar to bittorrent (ie, opening up many connections in a short period of time) and can apply throttling. Rogers uses both techniques, but they purchase them from another commerical company that could be providing it to any number of ISPs.

Yes, I use Rogers (not for long though). Simple network analysis of unencrypted and encrypted P2P and non-P2P clearly shows traffic being limited.
