The only issue I have with constantly putting something currently unexplainable as a product of God, and insisting that everyone leave it at that, is that if we did so with every new unexplainable phenomenon, we'd still be back in the stone ages. When man discovered fire or the wheel, did they leave it to God to be the only creator of fire or wheels? I think you see where I'm going with this.

I think its fascinating to try and figure out how and why things work, rather than always putting it down to "it just is". Maybe as a child I would have accepted such explanations, but now it just doesn't fill my cup anymore.

But all too commonly these demos last about 10 minutes and don't let you get much of a feel for what you get with a 60 dollar purchase. if they made it more like the shareware games from 10 years ago it might work, they often contained a good 1/5th of the entire game content or so.

i'm sure after seeing the success of the iphone we'll see plenty of other options, and as time goes newer revisions of the iphone will also get better batteries i'm sure. This is just kind of what you get when you buy into the first version of something so new and groundbreaking. As i recall the first generation or two of the ipod were less than stellar also, but the last few generations have been pretty solid.

i think this whole ordeal is really about resellers in general, they just need a scapegoat because it affects their online sales presence.

but whats rediculous is the fact that these products were ALREADY PURCHASED. Therefore the company has already made its bucks off of its products. Besides there's plenty of people out there who'd still rather go through an official source rather than ebay even if they spend a bit more. It really comes down to quality of product and quality of services, if someone thinks they're better off through ebay the problem is not with ebay.

the broken updater thingy really frustrated me with 10.2, and ubuntu's automatix is what really did it in for me... no more being unable to watch "propietary" video formats without first spending hours trying to get it to work in suse. I think thats really what most people want, is a hassle-free OS that works, and as a serious contender to windows and OSX, ubuntu is pretty much it.

I used to use Mandriva, but things would often blow up (I liked to toy around with stuff a lot, such as XGL) and only be fixable with a reinstall. Ditto for OpenSuse. Ever since I've gone to Ubuntu however, I've actually been pleased with what I have and actually have gone through my computers and placing ubuntu feisty over windows or the current flavor or linux it had before it. I now have two 100% ubuntu work computers, one 100% ubunu personal computer, and only one computer left with windows for gaming and beyondtv (still can't get mythTV to run right) even it is set up for dual boot with ubuntu. No other linux flavor would have made me even make one of my computers 100% linux before now. I have seen the light, and I crave more!
