I'm not trolling, and I know I'll get modded down for this, but I can't help but enjoy seeing so many problems with Apple's products. We all know someone who looks down their nose at non-Apple PCs, and each one of these stories knocks these people down a peg.

eg "Did you hear about the recent root-my-mac-mini competition? Apparently there are loads of critical undisclosed vulnerabilities in OS X."
"Really? But OS X is UNIX [so how could it be vulnerable?]"
The worrying thing is that this was a doctor of Computer Science, my lecturer!

Maybe after enough of these problems are found fanatics will start to realise that we're using non-Apple PCs because we prefer them.

That's true. I don't like Macs at all but in my experience every laptop has at least one flaw. My Dell Inspiron 2200 has a faulty sound chipset which gets interference from a capacitor. Dell replaced it, the problem remains, and although they said they were working on a revised version they ended up e-mailing to tell me that they couldn't sort the problem out.

The cellphone comparison was valid; the 500GHz chip isn't a general purpose CPU it would be more like the DSP in a cell phone, a general purpose CPU at 500GHz would have a massive cycles per instruction ratio. Assuming we can solve the problem of getting O2 et al out of lunar soil, then there's no problem with tweaking the gas levels as needed. One hopes that there will at least be *some* sort of bio-cycle handling much of the C02/O2 turnover, as well as providing food and helping with waste management... but there's no reason you can't add more O2 at some point as needed."

Even if you do have a source of oxygen up there you still don't want to have an oxygen leak; however we extract oxygen it'll cost energy, and oxygen input may be slower than output. Also leaks in a biosphere on Earth would leak much faster in the vacuum of space.

No, I agree with the grandparent that we have to get it working flawlessly on Earth before trying it elsewhere.
