Kima Nieves recently received two Aveeno bath-time sets and a box of Huggies diapers through her baby registry on Amazon. The only problem? The new mother didn't ask for the products, or even want them.
Not only that, she didn't make a baby registry on amazon, never even had a baby and wasn't even a woman!;)
Clearly, you don't know what you are talking about: "A "Red Scare" is promotion of widespread fear by a society or state about a potential rise of communism, anarchism, or radical leftism."
Nobody thinks they are communists, anarchists, or radical leftists. We do however think Russia is meddling in foreign elections.
The unfortunate thing is, with all of the Kabuki theater going on about Russia, everyone is totally ignoring China pretty much...
I'm sorry but hard facts a Kabuki theater does not make.
I mean, if you want presidential ties to another country to examine there is all kinds of...
We are perfectly capable of doing multiple things at once. Whataboutism doesn't change what Russia has done, it just makes you pro-Russia.
40% of 7.6B is 3B according to my trusty calculator. Is it going to reach 3B or 1.5B ?
Read between the lines! They are saying that they are going to kill about 4 billion people by 2024. I don't know who they are targeting but this Earth show just got a whole lot more exciting!;)
it's MY OS, I paid for it, and I want it on MY disk, thanks.
Wrong. You paid for a license to be able to use their OS and given the EULA you agreed to, they can change anything they want at any point and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm simply pointing out the harsh reality of the situation.
For many businesses moving away from windows is not an alternative because they are dependent on windows applications, and moving away from those applications is not an alternative.
I just said move to another OS which honestly could be Windows 8 if you wanted. Also, I think people greatly underestimate just how functional WINE is. It won't do absolutely everything but it will do nearly everything. That said, you can pay another company to ensure your critical application XYZ works via WINE. Before you cite costs, this isn't merely about money either because frustrated execs will gladly throw around company cash to make their frustrations go away.
the good thing is, Tesla is on the right track now....
No, the good thing is that as Tesla succeeds, it forces other companies to make competing offers. Tesla Motors lit a fire under all the car makers and now they are scrambling to catch up. Without Tesla Motors electric cars would still be in the "well it's a nice idea..." category.
Sunday Facebook's head of public policy told Parliament their actions were "entirely without merit," adding that they believed the move was "more about attacking our company than it is about a credible legal claim."
This isn't about making a legal claim, at least not yet and it's certainly isn't an attack. This is an investigation into Facebook's dealings with a corporation who is paid to undermine democracy. I don't blame the UK Parliament for unusual conduct in doing this considering the bullshit Facebook has pulled already with the EU. Facebook is telling everyone to trust them and when everything goes to shit they claim it's all fixed now when it's clearly not.
Facebook only cares about Facebook and they are terrified that it's users will figure that out.
She's had endless problems with Windows 10 Pro's update system causing downtime.
The problem here is Windows 10 Pro for which there is no magic fix other than not using it. If the product does not perform to your satisfaction then the solution is to not using the product.
People hate this answer because it means moving to another operating system which can be unpleasant but that doesn't make it any less true.
If the cars can be remotely controlled then they can be remotely stolen. This means that there will be cars that drive themselves to a destination where they will be stripped of the remote capability by non-thieves (via firmware update) before driving off, never to be seen again.
This may all but halt low-tech theft but it will dramatically increase the potential for high-tech. I expect to hear about thousands of cars being stolen in a single day due to a zeroday exploit.
We already went over this before on Slashdot. Even if you scraped all the seaweed from the sea floor, there still wouldn't be nearly enough for all the cows. The solution is to engineer something to feed the cattle or the people (that doesn't come from cattle).
Silicon Valley has this Janus-like political stance where they behave like caricatures of the most amoral greedy sociopathic businesspeople while ostentatiously parroting progressive dogma as if it somehow balances the whole thing out anywhere outside of their twisted little minds.
Money corrupts (some) people regardless of politics but in many cases corrupt people excel in business because they already are amoral greedy sociopathic people.
The real question is, how do stop corrupt behavior from benefiting? The correct answer is laws and regulations because you cannot force ethical behavior to occur but you can penalize unethical behavior.
Google's Duplex is Rolling Out To Small Group Of Pixel Owners
At long last, we can finally buy Pixel owners! I'm going to buy the whole lot and use them as giant chess pieces who murder each other like when chess was for royalty! Finally, Google is selling what the rich really want! #OnlyReadHeadlines
Are Azure, AWS, et. al. compelled to make their infrastructure source (derived from OSS) available to customers who use Azure, AWS, etc?
No because they are not distributing binary versions of it.
If so, this seems like an unfortunate loophole in the GPL.
The Affero GPL was "designed to close a perceived application service provider (ASP) loophole in the ordinary GPL." The AGPL is not often used but when it is, it's usually for server specific software.
If they had merely created a backdoor account and given the FBI access, I'm certain that the server would have been seized and a shitload of arrests would have happened. There is no way he was hosting 6500 darkweb sites without lots of them being highly illegal.

Just wait until someone tricks it into continually serving racist propaganda. If I've learned anything from the internet, this won't last.
Scientists gonna science. Fund 'em or loose 'em.
This Red Scare 2.0 is lit!

That is pretty impressive you can build a sea base for $160 million. In the US that wouldn't even pay for the wetsuits.
And the US wouldn't kill anyone in the process either or afterwards from shoddy construction.
You can accomplish a lot when you don't put much value on human life.
IBM is just trying to get the same payoff that Apple got. I'm certain they would be equally willing to do a 180 on this issue too.
Do you want Skynet?! Because this is how you get Skynet!
That is some weak sauce right there, FBI.
It's not stupid if it works. Social engineering is simply hacking a human instead of hacking computer program.

If you don't like how Windows 10 behaves then switch to another operating system. Anything less is rewarding Microsoft for bad behavior.

Well now we know how nature is going to solve the overpopulation problem if we don't manage to reverse climate change.

I avoid social networking like the plague and my wife
And you wonder why your marriage is falling apart!
Just the types of little humorous clips she shows me really imitates me
Imitates you? Oh my, so she shows you clips that mock you? Well, now we know why you avoid her! ;)
You aren't the first and you won't be the last to point out this fact.
