  1. Human experimentation. on China, Unhampered by Rules, Races Ahead in Gene-Editing Trials (wsj.com) · · Score: 1

Considering it's behavior, the Chinese government clearly holds little regard for human life. That said, if someone has a fatal prognosis then they should be able to volunteer for experimental treatments under the condition that they accept that the treatment will likely result in a painful death and part or all of their body may be used kept to study and understand what went wrong with the treatment. However, the volunteer should be given the option of euthanasia should they wish to have it (to avoid the horrible painful death part).

Human experimentation is gruesome business and should not be taken lightly. It may be your only option aside from death but it's good to remember that a horrible painful death is a likely outcome.

Why not? How would that change anything?

can you name a single instance of such propaganda efforts, backed up by actual evidence and not hysterical accusations.

Facebook and Twitter. If you are claiming those are "hysterical accusations" then you have some serious denial in your blood because both the corporations and multiple government agencies have confirmed their efforts.

  5. Lots of people have foreseen this problem for a long time, myself included. I've also foreseen that the concept of UBI (universal basic income) will be rejected because of ideology as well as the sheer number of people living in denial about the problem. The workers threatened by automation that are in unions will try (and fail) to outlaw the technologies that are going replace them. Truckers are already doing this but it's a failing strategy. It's only when a very large number of people are their most desperate that UBI will be considered to be an option.

because we need a distraction from how horrible Hillary and her party are to lose the most winnable election in history.

It's 2018 and the Republicans have controlled both Congress and the Presidency for over a year, so why are you bringing up the 2016 elections? If you're Russia it seems like the best way to stir up shit in opposing powers is to let them tear themselves in half over whether or not Russia was involved in influencing their government in some way.

Russia uses online propaganda to meddle. If their decision to reopen the probe into Russian meddling in Brexit was based on online propaganda then they are more gullible than Trump voters.

It seems extremely unlikely that Russia is going to draw unwanted attention to itself. The best course of action is for all parties to remain calm and wait for the outcome of the investigation. Now, if you doubt Facebook's own investigation then you are effectively claiming that Facebook is currently meddling in Brexit which is some serious conspiracy shit for a mere corporation to even attempt.

Evidence for the link between smartphones and unhappiness is weak. Fake news is not only an online phenomenon.

I can tell you for a fact that adults addicted to their smartphones just kinda check out of being parents and only do the most superficial component of parenting. They aren't neglecting their children but they also aren't involved in their lives in any meaningful way. There's a new generation of children being raised by zombie parents because of these damn machines and it's going to lead to an increasingly and strangely fucked up future for society. These devices could be great tools but there is far more profit in making money off of neurohacking people which results in screen zombies.

It's ultimately up to the individual to decide how they live their lives but there is nobody warning them about the danger smartphones present.
