How does your personal pleasure center measure up?
My job allows me too meet many well endowed people. Invariably we get to talking about our wangs. I've run across some very sophisticated tadgers. Some people I've met have enough to have themselves classified as "hung like a fucking horse". They run this at home, and usually just for the hell of it. How do the stiffys of Slashdot readers measure up?" How long is your member?

Well, us purists may be ripping to a lossless format for other reasons than quality. For example, to avoid having to re-rip 200 cds, as you are currently doing :) If I needed my entire collection in mp3 for some reason, I could do it with a bash script overnight.

  7. Re:Amarok? on Novell Suggests Linux Program Replacements · · Score: 1

I love the library part of amarok. It was the playing I never could get to work.
Mp3, ogg vorbis and others were fine, but FLAC files would just produce silence. Bit of an inconvinience when my whole library is FLAC. Since xmms randomly stops playing on FLAC files as well, and rhythmbox (gstreamer) - don't get me started(i think this must be some conspiracy. I've invested more time in trying to get FLAC to work with various music players than I have during my 1,5 years of gentooing (no more...)).

MPD, otoh, plays everything fine :)
Besides, on Windows (work): itunes? wtf? give me musikcube any time.

I've never used iTunes, but i don't think it plays ogg vorbis, flac and other open formats, do it? I don't have any mp3s, since all my music is self ripped, and I want it lossless. I use FLAC.

It seems to me like Slashdot blames easily exploitable technology (eg. windows) all the time.
Few people would have a proplem with RFID used to simplify workflows, but it seems that many are not sure big corporations or goverments won't misuse it somehow.
