    Does this mean that in a few years, you will no longer be able to download music from them? I can already see it... They'll go from offering music, to only offering audio programs in the likeness of "The Real World", "Punked", "Jackass", "Pimp my Ride", "Made", etc, etc, etc...

    And of course, all of this will be sprinkled with advertisments for Mountain Dew, Microsoft, and Slim Jim.

    The bottom line is this: If you mark your sites up so that they present the content in such a way as to accomidate most browsers, and be $html complient, you shouldn't have any problem getting seen. A good example is "Alt" tags. These are crucial for displaying your page in a text only browser such as links, e-links, lynx, etc...

    Jacking up your ratings by any other means may work in the short-term, but let's face it, if you come up first on a search engine and your site is not relevant, what good does it do you (except of course in the case of porn and warez)?

    I can already see a major problem that AIT will have in actually winning this case. What about traffic that has been proxied? At one point or another, most network/systems administrators, when reviewing their log files, have wondered why they are seeing so much traffic from the same IP address located in "Reston, VA". This is of course the location of America Online's proxy servers.

    Is it just me, or does their case seem a little weak?

    Don't count on NASA going anywhere anytime soon. Shifting strategy, and scientific objectives, yes - but "an eventual demise", no. Though it is not widely advertised, NASA is embedded deeply in the defense research industry. This is a vital conduit for government contracts and congressional funding - all of this is outside the media-spun "Manned Missions" hype. Remeber, the DOD relies heavily on NASA for direction, new technology, etc...

    It is important to note that some of the lesser advertised properties of UWB are particularly disturbing for the intelligence/defense community. For those of you familiar, UWB is in itself not succeptable to Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) because this technoly is essentially based on frequency hopping, which does not allow for spectrum saturation on the battlefield... So if you think about it, UWB could give foreign adversaries a technological edge on the battlefield - Right off the shelf.
