"Security through obscurity" is what can sometimes make or break a lawsuit. The ability of a juror to make the connection between what a website might call an "content administration officer" and that user's actual role is what is at stake. The obscurity in a title like that leaves their role at the website open for interpretation. Obviously the plaintiff (MPAA) would argue it for uploader, but the defendent could argue it another way.
My thoughts exactly. Most scene releases are shit quality, often even transcodes. OiNK was what I had in mind, but I'm sure there are others, where users often rip to Lame V0 and FLAC, providing logs with EAC.
If Linux proponents expect to see any sort of growth in desktop Linux usage, they are going to have to back down on this issue. Users want their MP3s to play. They want their videos to play. They don't want to deal with some complicated installation procedure just to get basic functionality that they can get easily, out-of-the-box in an install of another operating system.
Linspire realizes this, so they're doing all they can to make it easy as they can for new Linux users to use Linux and do what they want. People shouldn't be giving them flack for this.
Windows is the only operating system suceptible to spyware. I am SURE that users of alternative operating systems comprise more than 3% of internet users.
Yet another misleading article. They should at least get their facts right.
What's/truly/ funny is that parent got modded insightful, which means that the moderators did not pick up on the references to Enemy Territory. Which, I might add, is a great game.
The price means nothing. The intrinsic value of the materials used to create the device are what make it so valuable. You do have a point, though, the article title is a bit misleading.

I don't think you want to do that, Dave.
All of us hardcore kids have been playing MUDs since the early 90s.

Which is why private bittorrent communities are best. There are certain ones where quality standards are much higher for video and audio quality.

No, not at all. It's just that every domain available on the .mob TLD has already been bought by the RIAA
Yeah, except that equation doesn't work, as Oxygen is one of the homonuclear diatomics, so it has to be in twos in an equation.
A day or so behind in speed, a few years ahead in intelligence.

Yeah, sure, they'll get rid of spyware. Just like they got rid of spam.
Oh, yes, they /say/ that it's for an energy source.
I have a feeling they just want to create an evil lair.
