Why does Chrome allow dangerous extensions to be installed and let ads through when it shouldn't in the first place?

So the opposite to connecting people is heavy censorship by a private company, and that's supposed to be better? How does that work?

I saw a video that said placing a human hand in the beam of the Large Hadron Collider was probably bad too, but who does that?
