    The trouble with technology 'helping' the dumb checkout people through better technology is that it insures they will always be dumb. There was a time when cashiers could actually make change, but thanks to modern cash registers, there is no chance of that anymore. Heaven forbid you give the moron an extra penny so you get back an dime instead of a nickel and four pennies, they will have to void the sale and start over to 'figure it out'.

    I really want to know if professional programmers out there think what shows up on the web is an accurate sample set of what is going overall in the programming community.
    When I ran a Video Production shop, I was always explaining that what you saw on TV was only a very small portion of the market share of Video Production. There's a lot of things that just aren't for public consumption.

    Price isn't the only factor here. Has anyone seen any real reliability or Environmental numbers on any of these drives yet? I know many government/military programs who would be glad to pay for it, if it could prove to increase availability in certain environments.

    I returned from Nigeria with a sample of the XO laptop

    I did RTFA, and no mention of HOW he got the laptop... I know everyone was talking about these things ending up all over the world in the black market, don't tell me it's ALREADY there.

    Don't forget, Al-Queda isn't just the guys hiding in caves with AK's, there are members in appartments and offices all over the world who are happy to contribut to the cause by editing a few videos, posting streaming media on the web, providing intel, etc.

    You just demonstrated one of the basic reasons your generation isn't getting taken seriously. You can't write a sentence.

    Now to answer what I think your point was - Most people under 22 haven't worked to create content and then seen it get used by others without compensation. And no, YouTube uploads of you singing into a hair dryer don't count as actual content. Like it or not, hollywood movies, rock stars, and quality books will all be distant memories if copyright dies.

    Remember this post in 10 years when you change your mind.

    I believe you missed my point.

    "Do no Evil" - company motto, remove all copyrighted content
    vs.
    Survival - being the engine people use to find things

    I was trying to point out that they may bo oposing forces in this case. the more they remove, the less people will use google to search.
