kind of crazy. I remember driving past here a few times not too long ago. I wonder what exactly happened during refueling that triggered the explosion (as it's not covered in the article).
I had an idea to name all of my servers after pokemon...
and to place them in subnets differentiating them by their main elemental type (grass, water, fire, etc.)
I read the issue of Game Developer Magazine which covered FEAR and if I remember correctly, they stated that the AI wasn't too incredible in FEAR - most enemies were just told to duck, cover, return fire, and, if appropriate, hide.
So, as you can see, the article supports its saying with "AI that's just 'smart enough'"
"OBJECTION!" (Sorry, been playing Phoenix Wright...)
But seriously - how is it that you are being sued? You have done nothing wrong. You gave the company ample notice, have been very kind with them (or so it seems), and have been honest. I don't see where they are even obtaining the grounds to sue you.
I hope you win; your old company sounds like a plethora of pricks.
I was bullied quite a lot during my childhood and for the administrators to worry so much about cyberbullying is just stretching it. I honestly need to say that they need to get rid of bullying in the physical and verbal sense before even attempting to touch the digital sense of it.
In the end, if you are being bullied online, what's the best action you can take so that they will stop? Disconnect. (or block, if via IM) Problem solved.
$499? $599? Seriously - who will actually spend that much? We all see how the PS3 ended up with prices in that range. Keep in mind that $500~$600 is the price with a subscription service to Cingular/AT&T. I wonder how much it is without a subscription...
I was discussing here at work with coworkers that if it was $300 or less without a GPS, I'd get it and if it had a GPS I'd extend my budget to $400, but instead, Apple likes to go the way of Sony: by reaching for their customers' wallets.
Sure, it has nice features, but honestly, I don't see myself using half of them. I buy a phone to use it as a phone, not a camera, music device, or web client. I make an exception for the GPS, though, as having one in your hand (perhaps syncing with address book?) would be very nice; the rest are unnecessary.
Honestly, though; for $500~$600, the iPhone should be giving me oral sex, too. I was hoping for a new iPod, but instead Jobs gives us this (admittedly) nice product that's horribly overpriced instead of offering us another generation of semi-affordable mobile devices.
Surprised someone would mention that; I am a developer for eAthena (every now and then, college gets in the way).
But I'm anxious to see what performance differences and nifty features Falcon will hold when the Open Source Community gets their hands on it. I currently use MySQL with a mixture of MyISAM and InnoDB tables, but that may all change depending on what new storage types appear.
Does this really belong on Slashdot? Who really cares if WoW is down for a few hours or one entire day? Shit happens, people; get a life.
If my favorite MMO was down for a day, I'd normally be disgruntled for 5-10 minutes, then shrug it off and go play or work on something else and come back to it the next day.
Nintendo actually did studies and research to do their best on making the straps appropriate (small enough to not bother a person, but large enough to keep the user from dropping it).
All that has to happen is Nintendo to prove that they actually did make time and go out of their way to study and research the wrist straps.
But seriously, who here has actually broken their Wiimore straps? I certainly haven't and I feel that anyone who did is a bit too hyper/exited or is a few fries short of a happy meal.
I've actually heard from a few friends of mine that tested the game that it actually is fun. Yes, I know it's hard to believe but according to them, even though it's a Christian-themed game, it actually is entertaining. Just as long as it provides the player with amusement and entertainment, I really don't mind what kind of game it is.
Also, many stores have sold games like Doom, Duke Nukem, and Grand Theft Auto... so why wouldn't they be allowed to sell a Christian-themed game? Sounds like people might be scared of a little theistic gameplay more-so than unwanted sex scenes and mass amounts of gore.
I do agree that HD-DVD and BluRay are definately DOA. I do not think anyone wants to readily re-purchase their entire DVD collection just to have higher quality (most people don't have HD TVs yet, even).
And to the point of downloading music/movies/etc. instead of physically owning them, I actually prefer to have the physical medium - sort of a collector's thing. I enjoy holding the disk and being able to look at the art on the box/case instead of looking at images online. I am not sure if I am alone on this, but basically when I buy something I like having it physically, so I can't be ripped off later after I reformat or such.
I'm surprised Limewire of all people is fighting back; I would have thought BitTorrent or such would have struck back before Limewire.
Nonetheless, I am happy the RIAA is finally getting hit with their own medicine; this whole online music fiasco is really starting to annoy me, let alone make me worry about the music I have and what punishments I may get for buying any RIAA-sponsored music labels. This is why I currently don't buy anything RIAA-sponsored.
So let's only ship 1 million to create a shortage (sound familiar, XBOX 360?). This means that we'll have a repeat of having people trampled, simply trying to snag a PS3 (given that it sells at all).
With a $600 price mark, only 1 million consoles being made (read: a large shortage of the consoles), and very expensive games, the PS3 is as good as dead already; before it's actual launch.
Poor guy; killed by his passion - at least he died doing what he loved. (Although I would have presumed it would have been by a snake or alligator)
Nonetheless, I always enjoyed his shows (they were somewhat comical anyway); I hope they still show repeats of them and people will remember him for at least a few years...
You need more vespene gas! Er, I mean StarCraft franchise.
Is it just me or have they really kicked the dead horse that is WarCraft a bit too much? WoW was cool for maybe a few months, but now I hate it. Friends of mine lock themselves away for weeks (not days - weeks) and then boast they helped their guildmates kill some random boss. Good job, buddy, you just killed a mythical being, 2 weeks, and your GPA!
Nonetheless, I do hope like crazy it's something with StarCraft. (Hopefully StarCraft 2, not some MMO as I'm a cheap bastard and don't want to pay too much)
No kidding, I'm up the same creek. Here in the US, consumer-rate ISPs completely rape you - $50/month for a SHARED 10 MB connection, while in France (see the first reply) they get Fiber-to-the-Curb for only approx $90.
I wish I could find a great non-business-class, high-speed, non-rape-you-for-your-money ISP in the US...
Valve's games constantly have very high quality, outstanding story and very enjoyable gameplay. To make their game as perfect as possible, I feel that giving them another 3-4 months is acceptable.
Good luck, Valve! Expect me to be buying Episode 2 soon.

I went to the e3insider website and revealed to me why E3 died...
it was sponsored by G4.

With the way Sony is going recently, that PS4 you mentioned might never come to be.

Amazing! We have the same combination of 1-2-3-4!
Still, Firefox is more secure that IE6... I wonder how many holes are in that piece of swiss cheese software?

Sony's in some serious trouble here.
I'd agree; this isn't a huge surprise. Sony better get their act together or the whole company will be in more trouble.

...while North Korea provides the catering service for all of the mission base staff.
The communist countries gotta stick together, it seems.

Hey, I'm an intern currently!
Wait... I've been making labels for the past two weeks.
Crap, he's right.

Where the hell is our inexpensive 100 MB internet connection?! I'm stuck paying $40+ per month for a semi-decent Road Runner (ick) connection.
If anyone actually has information on this, that'd be nice to know.
