Energy storage is not impractical and the cost depends on the circumstances. Nuclear is expensive too. You have to do the math. Preconceived notions are a bad idea.
Just don't break the other DSN dishes while Goldstone is being worked on... "What's going on??? Tracking station forty three, Canberra, come in, Canberra! Tracking station sixty three, can you hear me, Madrid? Can anybody hear me? Come in, come in!"
What IS unrealistic to to blame ONLY man to the exclusion of all other contributing factors, which is what the A in AGW and all the real debate is about.
Please quote a climate scientist who says that 100% of warming in anthropogenic. I don't know any.
Dear USA, high taxes on gas cause reduced consumption via more efficient cars and less driving. That leads to less pollution and less money for the a-holes of the world. That's a good thing in my book.
Kids these days getting high on new beats! The sky is falling! Back in my day it was only Techno and we walked to school, uphill both ways. Now get off my lawn.
And the paid-for stuff is free of crap? There are very few information channels with a good crap-to-info ratio and many are free. PBS comes to my mind.

Free TV is not dead. Get a $20 antenna, and you can get nice 1920x1080 HD TV off the air for *gasp* free.
Yup. In every hard drive design, write current is disabled hard as soon as one of the supply voltage comparators trips. Emergency retract is absolutely required because if the heads land on the smooth platters, chances are very high that the drive is dead due to stiction. I don't know if any design still has textured landing zones; my suspicion is that everybody uses ramp loading these days to keep the heads off the surface.
And even if it does go on, it may not the kind of life we like and have gotten used to. Bacteria and jellyfish are not particularly profitable for fishermen.
Amen. I wish I had mod points. SUVs were and are the vehicles that make the highest profits for the manufacturers, most being primitive truck chassis with a trimmed-up cabin. Combine with a primitive inefficient engine whose design cost was recouped twenty years ago and you have the modern SUV. A polished turd indeed. A gas guzzler with bad performance and bad handling but of course the American consumer will take it if you spend enough on advertising.
You don't own "stuff". You only lease it from the media corps for some time. And even if you made it yourself, it should belong to them, so quit whining.
Just read the comments on Amazon. The ultimate cable!

No manufacturer is any different. As long as you don't have a problem under control, you sweep it under the rug. What's the alternative? A stop ship? You only do that if the costs down the line are expected to be higher than the loss from not shipping anything.
Ah, a Heisenbug. Been there, done that. They are fun in SW too. Any interesting bug will disappear as soon as you run under a debugger. All the really cool bugs only show up only when the system runs natively.

My friend and I used to sit on opposite sides of another friend and sing a falsetto "oooooo" at slightly different frequencies.
Sounds like Beach Boys to me.

The United States are the only developed country that has not ratified the Basel Convention.

If yes, can we please stuff it into IP jumbo frames and be done with the new standard?

stick to proven mathematical theorems, like a^2 + b^2 = c^2
If you find a perfectly flat area on your body that is. Otherwise the tattoo would have to be infinitesimally small, which would defeat the purpose.

Nah. Too heavy for me.
SR also doesn't need any deeper math. It's only GR where things get difficult. I think basic SR is very doable at the high school level.

They should have used "up to X % better" or "all new"to make it clear that this is marketing BS.
