Well... how can we prove black holes exist ?
(I mean... the astrophysics thing)
Good thing you put the 'astrophysics thing' on there. Otherwise we might have seen one of the few instances where a goatse link would be considered ontopic.
In addition to the tracks, you get cover artwork and liner notes as jpgs.
Only jpgs? Not good enough! I want full-resolution TIFFs (or better yet, PNGs) of all the artwork. I can't stand the smoothing and edge noise that appears when images get converted to jpg. It makes my eyes bleed.
Why not compensate for Coriolis force by using rockets?
I see you made it through two sentences in the summary. How about trying to read the third? "All of this would likely make it necessary to add thrusters, which would consume fuel and negate the benefits of the concept."
I don't get that: you have this teraflop machines sitting there (a f*cking CELL in the PS3 or a triplecore 3.2GHz PowerPC in the 360,/plenty/ of horsepower both of them) and still you need to stream stuff to it. Wouldn't it be much more economic to just install an application of whatever on that machine (integrated in the firmware or whatever) and have that do all the work? Streaming media to a PS3 or 360 makes them just a very expensive and overpowered video-out. I'd say: put all those flops to work!
Umm, where do you expect them to get the actual video data from? Will they just synthesize it out of thin air using all that horsepower? Seems you've missed a very key point to the whole issue.
Yup. We have a whole ocean's floor worth of data points.

Yeah, and the real "watergate" is the tidewater lock at the end of the 180-mile-long C&O Canal, which guess what, sits right across the street from the Watergate Hotel.
Next gut wrenching life decision, during what 6-12 week period do I wish to sacrifice access to my laptop to take advantage of this "free" repair? (just hip-shooting on the repair time, but actual experience with a MacPro repair at the local shop was longer....)
Well, the good news is that if you actually have the repair done by Apple, you'll probably only be out a laptop for a week or two (maybe less). They overnight a shipping container to you, which then usually is overnighted back to them. Basically, on the shipping end, they're really really quick. I'd avoid your local repair shop if possible and go with a repair directly from Apple. I had an old iBook that I had to send to them a number of times (it was one of those issues that they only acknowledged 1-1/2 years after I finally got my machine fixed for real). Though it took multiple repairs to actually get it fixed, each time it went away I was only without it for a few days.
Power Computing was the only clone manufacturer who was completely bought by Apple as opposed to having their contract canceled like the other and for good reason, their computers unlike the other clones where excellent.
I don't know if I'd say they were "excellent". They were more powerful than comparably-priced Apples, though. I had to deal with about 150 Power Computing clones many years ago. While they were a good value, they were nowhere near as reliable as the Apples from the same timeframe. Not to mention that many shipped with CD drives that you couldn't boot from (this made systemic wipes/restorations a bit of a pain). When it came time to upgrade, we cleared out the Power Computings as quickly as we could.
Oh, so it's like tomshardware.
No. That's unacceptable. Lossless or nothing!

And apparently just as ineffective.
Considering it took 16 years for it to become widely available in its original form, I'm not sure I'd exactly call that ineffective.

And lets be clear. The plural of computer mouse is most definitely not 'computer mouses'.
Computer meices?
Except it lost its ball. Pretty sad to lose a ball while you're in your prime.
It may have lost its ball, but look at what it gained...a frickin LASER!
The Eszett is actually a different character from the Greek Beta.
I believe the correct term for the ß character is "Super B"
But you don't need to put a computer between the internet and a 360. I seriously wonder where you guys get your information from sometimes....
The same place the computer gets it from: the internet (or an networked/external hard drive).
Oh, so you want it streamed over the internet. Guess what--that's how it works already, but for some reason you aren't content with that.

And don't forget that the dev phone has a cool pattern screened onto it, too.
Do you happen to know which data points we have?
Yup. We have a whole ocean's floor worth of data points.

perhaps now that you have that insight you can "mentally swap" the disappointment I'm feeling.
Hey, good news! You've succeeded!
Having said that - a 20s theme bar? Damn good idea that man, you'd be raking in the cash!
Well, if it were a genuine 20s-themed bar, he wouldn't be able to advertise that it actually was a bar. What with Prohibition and all... : p

If I owned a bar I'd tell BMI/ASCAP to "fuck off; I only play public domain stuff here".
And everyone who stepped into your bar would wonder why the hell you seem to be stuck in the 1920s.
Your post is ill-informed and simple-minded. Must be because you used ASCII characters. Seriously, a slashdot post in ASCII?
Well, if LingNoi's known about that hole for 4 years then I think we might have some idea who's been exploiting it...
Are you sure it was a lady? We are talking about the Internet, after all...
Yes, it's a lady named Roy. Wait a second...
Ah, physical size. Gotcha. ; )
