    I don't think the point is to inform people that you've expired. It is to send out messages to people after the fact. Give them the passwords to vital information. And perhaps say the things you've never said when you were alive. A strange idea, but it has nothing to do with notifying them that you've died.

    This guy is an asshat. Do you have to show some kind of ID to take money out of your bank account? How about to check in to a motel? Now some security restrictions can certainly be over-the-top when it comes to the airlines, but showing ID before boarding a flight? What the hell is wrong with that? They already have all of your information, so what's the problem with verifying that you are in fact not impersonating somebody else? Oh my gawd, big brother is everywhere!? Geez.

    It is not a criminal database. It is a database of fingerprints, and is not associated with the fingerprints belonging to a criminal. They have my fingerprints because I hold a New York state pistol permit. Big fucking deal.

    Funny when you search for "cfl" at walmart.com all you get is: 265 items found for "nfl". Yeah they're really trying hard. Sams club on the other hand brings up a cost savings calculator for cfl vs incandescents when you search for "cfl".

But in fact in regards to efficiency they are NOT getting worse, but getting better. It is just that our increased usage is outweighing the increased efficiency, creating an overall increase in consumption.

    That was his point. Efficiency considers both the amount of work accomplished and the amount of energy used to accomplish it. So What he is saying is that your electricity used per cycle is improved. Thus meaning that the new processor is more efficient.

    So eBay refuses to accept payments from Google Payments because they own PayPal. How long will their "it's not proven to be secure" argument hold up before they are slammed with a lawsuit. I'm no lawyer but it sounds an awful lot like the stuff Microsoft got in trouble for in the past, except worse. At least with Windows you *could* download and install a third-party browser. With eBay they are choking off a specific form of payment, and you know it's because it would clearly damage PayPal.

    You don't have overdraft protection on your checking account? Get with the times. If I overdraw my checking it just pulls $100 from my visa. No problems. I buy everything with my check card. No bounced checks. No fees.

    It is not unethical. I believe that if it was re-evaluated this would be determined. Any distress that is caused to the participants would be immediately relieved once they learned that no victim was really being shocked. The new study with 'virtual' victims serves no purpose. Also If you were sick enough to continue issuing the shocks than the psychological harm caused is irrelevant. Psychological 'Harm' is fairly harmless as far as I'm concerned. It is not as though they were issuing these shocks for several hours a day, for day after day after day... they just did a sitting and issued some shocks. Or hopefully said, fuck you I'm not shocking that guy! He's screaming! People need to have some self respect and use common sense.

    The "medium duty" vehicles are actually heavy duty vehicles. The full size Ford F-150, Toyota Tundra, etc... all post their EPA mileage on the sticker. The ford super duty trucks will now be required to list their mileage. Nothing really that interesting here. People buying these vehicles either need to have them for commercial purposes or don't give a shit because they piss away money for no reason anyways.
