"you know, the kinds of machines tailored to the needs of developers and with extensive development tools to ease the process"
Man, that is a messed up definition of a great gaming machine. Really, how many consumers who bought the XBox or PS2 cared how much energy the developers had to put in to make the games? Not a single one. They cared about the games, not how difficult they were to make.
You outta come check out this plant where I used to work. We were still using Mercury HID lamps when I left, but working on switching it over. We're talking several Megawatt-hour savings per quater, if not month.
Sorry, I looked that up. Assuming $4,980 a ton (just barely under the recent record high of ~$5,050) and 3.1 grams per penny, it would cost about $0.015 per penny. But that still doesn't explain why our money is not worth the paper it's printed on.
"Second, these images of Muhammad are as offensive to muslims as it would be to christians to depict the Virgin Mary getting fucked by a pig with the caption "Technically, she's still a virgin.""
I've seen a TShirt with a depiction of Mary that was captioned "She's only a virgin if you don't count anal" Do you see Catholics killing over that?
"I don't know what's worse on Slashdot, a dupe, a roland, or old news."
Since everyone seems to see the dupes and old news, I'd have to say a Roland. Afterall, I only poke my head out every once in a while.
Actually, it varies from state to state. Some require the officer to place you under arrest before he has cause to search your car (he has to check your immediate vacinity to insure his and the public's safety). However, that doesn't stop some cops from pulling you out of your car, searching it, and then arresting you if/when they find something illegal.
I've never seen any cable companies giving DVRs away for free.
It's more like a spin-off than a sequel.
Looks like somebody needs to go watch Planet Of The Apes Again.

"Claiming a revolutionary theory but giving no concrete, testable predictions: +50"
Since when is creationism revolutionary?
It's going to be a long time before the players are down to $200.
Yeah, but field medics also use the red cross symbol.
I'm not worried, I don't drink out of the toilet.
Whose last name happens to be Szyslak. Hence the "Mr. Szyslak."
Wrong. They actually proved it true. I think every brush they tested had evidence of feces.

I'm pretty sure that it would still cost less than $0.01 to make a penny out of copper, but I could be wrong.

If they thought that, they'd still be using WinAmp 2.9 anyways.
I would buy that game.

How's that?
You forgot "Dickens Cider." This is a real drink. You have to say the name to get the joke.
I know I've heard it, but I can not place it. Where's it from?
"why NOT make it free? (as in air)"
Air isn't free, what do you think your taxes pay for?
You mispellt Truthiness.
hehe, Maginot Line, hehehe
Comeon, they are a Communist regime. It's obvious they don't know how the real world works.
