Animal crossing uses friend codes only so random people dont mess up your town but every other game supports friendcodes and random matchups (mario kart has rivals (people with a similar win/loss record), friends, regional and worldwide player matching options) also MPH will have a lot more ways to find oppenents.

What is anti-american about replying to this "any educated person should be able to convert to and from fahrenheit with ease. dont complain if you lack the knowledge to do so." With this "Maybe any educated American, but why would most of the world have to learn the convertions to an outdated method" Is it because I called it outdated? thats not pro or anti american its just a fact. I believe all countries suck equally and the world is in perfect balance.

"Originally, Nintendo worked with Sony to create a CD add-on to its then-successful SNES. Things were going along merrily, but, for some reason, Nintendo cut ties with Sony and changed to working with Phillips" Nintendo stopped work on the CD add-on because of how terrible the sega CD turned out "And, as you may have already guessed, Sony didn't stop production after Nintendo cut its ties- the project they were working on? You know it now as the Playstation." They used what nintendo paid to develop for a 2D system and used the rest of the money in marketing which is why the playstation had poor graphics (they couldent even make a smooth sphere).

In the case of CD's/DVD's you have paid for a disc with the content on it which was a great way to do it when people owned vinyl records (alot harder to copy) it's gotten alot more complicated now its so easy to copy content. people who have paid for something, want to keep it, so they copy it, but they dident pay for the rights to recreate content.

  14. Re:Eye of the Beholder on What is Next-Gen? · · Score: 1

you may be able to build a world with a text adventure but theres no pace eg: Mario has encountered a goomba do you want to A.jump over it B.jump on it C.run into it IMO it takes about 2 generations of gaming to perfect that generations advantage eg: basic gameplay, all the first gaming systems, 2D graphics, with the nes graphics things look better and more attention has to be put into artwork snes reached the pinnacle of 2D gaming, any 2D game since hasent been much different to what you could do on the snes, 3D gaming, 64/playstation games are 3D but still limited and chunky - dreamcast/PS2/Cube/Xbox 3D graphics are smooth and the 3D genres have been perfected. Next-gen the only differnce performance will make is for large online games like battlefield 2 and online games have already been perfeted by PC gaming which is why im going to go with PC gaming and the Nintendo revolution.

When they show it on oprah they are trying to market it towards older audiances, no not the 16yr old GTA audiance, the real older audiance of people 30-60 and adding this demographic wont take anything away from traditional gamers.

Arcade games were invented by Americans. Most people also say home consoles were as well, although they developed basically independently in Japan at around the same time (maybe slightly later) Console games were invented by a man in the U.S. military as a side project, he also invented the lightgun and the console later became the Magnavox Odyssey.
