From the site, you will learn a few things. 1) No technical knowledge is required. You can build high-quality web pages without having to learn HTML or use complex software. 2) What you see is what you'll get. You can edit your pages right in your browser, seeing exactly how your finished product will look every step along the way. 3) You dont need to worry about hosting. Your web pages will live on your own site at http://yourgmailusername.googlepages.com/
It's not all about smearing your enemies and promoting your agenda. It's all about money: using conflict journalism to drive up ratings and attract advertising revenue.
Our team is Agile. You can get more information about Agile Software Development at this wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agile_software_develo pment#The_Agile_Manifesto
"Most agile methods attempt to minimize risk by developing software in short timeboxes, called iterations, which typically last one to four weeks. Each iteration is like a miniature software project of its own, and includes all of the tasks necessary to release the mini-increment of new functionality: planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation. While an iteration may not add enough functionality to warrant releasing the product, an agile software project intends to be capable of releasing new software at the end of every iteration. At the end of each iteration, the team reevaluates project priorities.
"Agile methods emphasize realtime communication, preferably face-to-face, over written documents. Most agile teams are located in a bullpen and include all the people necessary to finish software. At a minimum, this includes programmers and their "customers." (Customers are the people who define the product. They may be product managers, business analysts, or actual customers.) The bullpen may also include testers, interaction designers, technical writers, and managers.
"Agile methods also emphasize working software as the primary measure of progress. Combined with the preference for face-to-face communication, agile methods produce very little written documentation relative to other methods. This has resulted in criticism of agile methods as being undisciplined hacking (aka Cowboy coding)."
One possible scenario is this: 1) All such content will be banned. 2) A few sanctioned portals will be approved for content signup. 3) After signup, the company will notify the ISP on the users behalf. 4) User will have access to pay-per-view content.
FYI, Google Base is still under development. Most likely the service will give retailers access to hundreds of millions of Google users. You can visit it at base.google.com.
Recently, some IT folks moved in over the cubicle wall from me. And let me tell you, it's been interesting. For one, they don't like different service calls. They like easy fixes and keep their fingers crossed when they receive a call. For another, they seem to have an us versus them mentality. Their first goal is to cover their own butts. Only after that, will they consider the end user. In fact, I overheard one of them say more or less, "I don't care about my end user. I only care about my job." This makes sense when you think about it. Basically, we need more accountability. If they bring a server down at high noon and halt the productivity of a software team, there should be accountability. If they make a change, requiring a standard S3 password for every account, and it interferes with ClearCase administration, there should be accountability. At present, they ask themselves, "Is my job safe? Will this next action help me or hurt me?" But they don't necessarily ask themselves, "What about the end user?"
It's neat to see an altnerative to stem cells. A few months ago, I read about a mouse suffering from degeneration of the retina that regained some of its eyesight from an injection of stem cells into the area.
This ability has existed forever. Give me a break. It's just now coming to light. Anyone would with the greatest ease spoof a phone call, pretending to be someone else. The same thing can be done with any kind of communication, instant message, whatever. It will be interesting to see exactly how we handle this issue. My guess is: laws, laws, laws. Is there no other way?
No person in their right mind would want to stop the government from doing thorough terroist investigations. Today more than ever, we must support our government and these investigations. However, just as important, we need to protect our civil liberties by putting checks and balances into the Patriot Act. Let's continue this healthy debate. Let's not trade off our freedom for security. After all, there is nothing more secure than a maximum security prison. Yet who in their right mind would trade their freedom for that kind of security?
The PDA (personal digital assistant) is simply changing shape. It's called the cellphone. We need our cellphones. Take a look at Japanese cellphones. They are used as e-wallets, garage door openers, gym membership verifiers, 3 way video conference communicators, and so on. With the advent of e-ink and flexible display technology, we can expect larger screens with higher resolution and lower power consumption that roll out. Take a look at the images at e-ink.com. The PDA is not dead. The personal digital assistant is simply changing shape to accommodate the needs of people the world round.
"Spammers have now discovered India it appears. The anti spam community around the world has noticed a steady increase in the amount of spam originating from Indian open relay SMTP servers.
"The problem is compounded by the fact that several of these servers are running old Mail Transport Agents (mostly outdated versions of Sendmail) which are anonymous open relays. That is, they allow spammers to relay mails without the sender's IP address being stamped in the headers, as is the case with most modern MTAs.
"Worse, such old MTAs have gaping security holes. Because sendmail runs as UID 0 (the same as root) a spammer can easily gain root access on a unix system running such an outdated MTA. This (or something quite similar) happened just after the Pokhran blasts, when BARC's servers were hacked by MilW0rm."

According to Edgadget there will be 8 sources:
Windows Starter 2007 - Vista without Aero, probably meant for developing nations.
Windows Vista Home Basic - Basic Windows Vista for your single PC fam, doesn't sound like much going on here. Analagous to XP Home.
Windows Vista Home Basic N - European version of the same, but without Media Player (because of antitrust rulings against MS in the EU).
Windows Vista Home Premium - This is the one we're all probably gonna own. It's got Media Center functionality, Cable Card support, the whole home-media shebang.
Windows Vista Business - Think of it as XP Pro, but Vista.
Windows Vista Business N - Think of it as XP Pro, but Vista, but Euro.
Windows Vista Enterprise - Business version of Vista with numerous enterprise features, like Virtual PC, volume encryption, etc.
Windows Vista Ultimate - Love that name. This one does all of the above (and more); what else do you need to know? It's ultimate Windows..
There are so many different kinds of television. It's boggling. Now I like choices. But it's overwhelming. I've settled on HD LCD/ PC compatible for my own reasons but only after a lot of research. Choice is good. But when half the choices of today aren't supported tomorrow, it gets frustrating. What do you think?
A tin-foil suit is not enough. You need a layer of peanut butter between yourself and the foil!

The term "extortion" is biased. The blog incorrectly quoted the chief. End of story.

Google is good at bringing info together. The links to many different sites in this case will work. All in all you'll get a less biased view.

I'm glad that Jeff showed candor. Very good.
