Just yesterday my father and i were talking about some old computers that the university i work at have on display, and he was telling me about how, about 30 years ago, he had an apple 1, and it was numbered 151. He remembers that they were offering to trade this computer for a new updated version, boy did he get a deal!
then again, if they kept all their old baseball cards they'd be rich off of those too
True, however hopefully the continued success of competitors phones will help apple realize (which it seems they are SLOOOOWLY coming around) that they need to give customers what they want, not what apple tells them they want.
That's comparing two different things. Can you upgrade parts of a PS1 to run PS3 games? no. But you can upgrade your computer to run newer games, or if you aren't too into games, you can keep your old PC running for years to just do regular tasks.
While direct impregnation may not be likely, they could always donate it, and hopefully help out the gene pool a little. I prefer it when idiots try to imitate certain TV shows and repeatedly nail themselves (some times literally) in the crotch. Maybe a "one laptop per idiot" program should be started?
But do you care? I wouldn't put it past those short-sighted people to say this is a horrible thing to do to snakes while the snakes are killing off other species anyways.
i think part of the problem is that he was going for something too big, impossible really. He was looking for an answer to life, the universe, and everything, while that's a nice thing to want, it's a little large for even his huge brain.
I think him "throwing in the towel" is good because now he is focusing on finding something that is a little more realistic to find in our lifetime.
Well sure whn your computer comes with IE it's easy for them to achieve such statistics. Now, how many of that percent actively wanted IE? Most IE users are either too lazy to get an alternative, dont know/care about the difference, or are on a work computer and dont have priveleges to install something better (me)
I'm not so sure. The ipad/tablets are just taking the place of netbooks. In my opinion netbooks were just underpowered and cramped laptops. The ipad/tablets remove the cramped aspect of the netbook and slap on a touch based gui. It seems to me that it's just the natural evolution of the netbook, taking it's shortcomings and addressing them. So I suppose if netbooks were a toy to you, then by all means, believe that the ipad is a toy as well.
At least with netbooks you could put whatever you wanted on them (performance permitting) , upgrade them, etc... I might be interested in an iPad if they could run linux.
i cunt see a problem with your logic!
isn't this the company that threatened if their customers used their internet too much he would "hunt down and throttle them"?

what's the difference?
Because here where we have "free speech" it's not a crime.

And, unfortunately, cookies.
If only George Bush was still here to save us from these [9/11] internets and declare war on them! Our free[9/11]dom depends on it!
You aren't a parent are you?
Crazy? Yeah, those dumb RICH bastards!
Kind of like how hybrids never "pay a return" however some people do it for the purpose of being less dependant on oil/coal products.

well, inventing the internet has already been claimed, so i guess he can't try to take that one.
This was marked as funny, however i'm betting it's true.
Installing certain software needed for some classes. Especially in the technical fields.
