This is exactly why the additional commentary at the end of the article is not needed.
You imply that Elon Musk never made a mistake, in an effort to point out government "waste", while ignoring the fact that SpaceX made attempts to land a rocket twice and failed spectacularly.
There's also the fact that NASA did roughly 60 years of research and development, mistakes and all, making it possible for Elon Musk to launch rockets so cheaply. SpaceX gets to skip all the expensive, embarrassing, "wasteful" parts of development.
How can he physically produce the "Baa" sound when his bottom lip is tucked behind his teeth? His lips don't press together when the illusion is supposed to make it sound like he's saying "Faa" instead. I think he's actually making two different sounds.
Isn't the "Baa" sound impossible to make without the lips pressing together? Isn't the "Faa" sound impossible to make without blowing on the lip-teeth connection with the top and bottom lips separate?
Where actual investigation, statistically significant, relevant, and specific, make it clear that welfare fraud is over-reported. I hear anecdotes about welfare fraud, but I have yet to see reputable, statistically significant sources listed.
I have a strong suspicion that you, like cayenne8 before you, are simply stereotyping, falling into the same type of ignorance, bigotry, and hatred that continues to keep "them" from having the same opportunities you've had.
I would like to point out that you made no mention of mental health or education in your argument, perhaps you'd like to comment on literally the first result that comes up in a Google search: http://suite101.com/article/suburb-vs-urban-areas-an-educational-comparison-a154719 I know you prefer hand-waving dismissal of facts, but you may want to work harder at passing off your opinion as fact.
How do you know the physical and mental condition of "them" simply by driving by? What type of education do "they" have?
You mention "them" having different fathers, have you done genetic testing on "them"?
I have a strong suspicion that you don't actually know any of the information above and are simply stereotyping, falling into the same type of ignorance, bigotry, and hatred that continues to keep "them" from having the same opportunities you've had. I also suspect that you've never had to live on welfare, never had to make the types of choices people in the projects make, never had to go through the failing education system of the inner-city and so you cannot fathom how "they" live, how "they" make the choices they make.
Under a fully socialized medical system you as a consumer do not have the option to shop around for a different alternative to your current health care insurer.
This is not the case with a single payer system. Although the direct decision is removed from the consumer, the government still shops around for the best price for products or services.
It's definitely not the best solution but at least in the US you can look for other companies to sign up with and while that process can be hard...
Unless you're poor or your employer gets a kick back to offer a single health insurance option or you have a pre-existing condition....it does mean that 1 denial of service is not the end of any chance you have of help.
You're clearly in denial about the reality of poverty and income mobility in the U.S. The fact is that 10% of the population has de facto zero access to healthcare except in extreme emergencies. All but a small portion of Americans have low-quality health care options and anything related to a traumatic or chronic condition means going bankrupt.
Where and when did you pay 12k? Is that per year or for a 4-year degree?
Even at the local community college and technical schools, 12k would be a bargain for 2 years of classes. I've seen the difference in quality going from a community college to a 4-year university and I doubt a 2-year program can adequately prepare anyone for a rigorous engineering or science career.
The extra $10B comes from defaulting on the two previous $5B bills they had to pay. Again, for paying pension and benefits for retirees that may exist in the future at 100%.

Where do you work that you get $700 chairs? I'd be happy with something with an adjustable back and arm rests that are in tact. I've yet to work a job where anything but the larger meeting rooms have nice chairs in them, and that's only because outside clients have to sit in there.
Then we're right back where we started, that "tax free" term might start out as 7 years and then will get extended to 14, then to 35, then 99 years, then 200 years past the life of the owner.
You don't get a "tax free" period on owning your home. You don't get a "tax free" period on owning a car. You don't get a "tax free" period on any other real property. Why should someone get that benefit for IP?
The population has greatly decreased and now the odds are greatly increased That I may someday get a chance To kiss your lips I thank the lo-oooord each day for the apocalypse
Folks are mostly disfigured or dead darlin' I won't let it go to my head My Momma's face has dripped down into the dirt and me, I'm still chasin' chitluns, whiskey and skirt.
In the past, neither GMs or Devs have needed corporate access to fix POS issues. The DS1 CEO said he never petitioned the stations for support in any way.
I think we all understand that bands should get paid for their work. We also understand that copyright holder is the only one who gets to copy and distribute the music.
It is entirely another thing for the RIAA to go after individuals who cannot defend themselves against a fleet of lawyers. They are not enforcing their copyright, they are trying to scare people by over litigating the competition to their outdated business model. Suing an individual for almost a hundred billion is going way beyond anything reasonable. Most normal minded people can see that.
In adition to the pathetic excuses for enforcing their copyright, the RIAA is trying to justify huge expenses for a broken business model that doesn't pay off when they cannot seem to follow basic economic principles of supply and demand.
I lost my job last month. Money is getting pretty tight around here, I guess I'll have to raise taxes. Oh wait, I'm not the government.
Perhaps spending is the problem. Now we can all disagree on what the wasted spending is going to, some could say welfare other defense, but at some point there has to be a limit on just how much the government gets in the first place.
At the college level, you'd better be able to get through all the terms.
In Jr. High, kids need to get a grasp on why they are learning physics. Memorizing formulas and equations separates the reason for calculating anything from what its needed for. Also, if you can make it interesting enough for kids to keep looking into science, then in college they can get the dirty work done and know why they want to be an engineer.
I was in AP physics/chem in high school and I didn't learn a damn thing compared to what I learned in college. DO you really think a Phd is needed to teach kids in Jr. High?
I will keep buying nothing but used discs at second hand stores for the sole purpose of making sure they have some money to fight those greedy fuckers.
Perhaps some type of peer review before the post gets to the front page. Even if its just among the editors, they wouldn't have to worry about voting ratios like on K5, they could setup some way of getting two other mods to say, "Yes go ahead and post that." Three yes' means it goes to the front page. A no means it doesn't.
This really shouldn't be that hard, for someone who runs Slashdot anyway.(I personally couldn't do it easily) I understand the editors are busy people, but a simple checkbox style aproval wouldn't take more than a few seconds.
I donate money, when I can, and I've got permission to use the lab for Distributed Folding. When I finish my generals, I will be focusing on a biology major. Is that enough whining for today?
Decimal math indicates accuracy and precision at the same time. A fraction says nothing about how good your measurement tools are.
Saying 4in. when you're talking about feet is slightly more precise than saying 3/10, but less precise than 33/100.
Fractions are hard for computers to calculate correctly, which is why most programming classes tell you to use integers when you can. When you've only got 24 bits to make that fraction, theres some accuracy problems that can come up.
Just imagine what that 400 hours of supercomputer time could do. I mean, a trillion digits in interesting I guess, but I'd much rather see that processing time go to something useful like protien folding so we can pehaps find a cure for cancer or AIDS or Alzheimers or Parkinsens or...

If God is perfect, why would He need to tweak a system created to support His image as man?

You mean 4 colors. Yeah there was dithering that made stuff kinda look like it was a different color. That was a hack.
The monitor itself could probably do whatever a color TV can do, its the adapter that only has 4 colors.

Good point, but it sounds like they used that 400 hours in between the other work they were doing, so they obviously trust the machine enough.
