Exact Opposite, my wife said she was sick of all the notifications she couldn't figure out every time she started XP, and truth be told most of them were windows LIVE update, scans or defender updates (I think) I installed Feisty and showed the wife the only notification she will get to update and the two buttons she had to push to keep everything updated. She pretty much figured out Open office by herself and she hasn't bothered me much since (over computers). I play all my video stuff in Ubuntu (Gutsy), never missed yet, but yeah it took a few minutes at Ubuntu forums to get it all set up, well worth my time.

Woz is a nice guy, seen him in action. Unlike the current management of Apple, Woz does really care about people. The idea that Apple has changed since its conception seems pretty clear. In the old days working for Apple you could go in on your own time and build whichever Mac you wanted and take it home. Wonder if there is a program for free iPods or iPhones in place these days? LOL. I remember the company wide parties thrown when new products were released, boy those people knew how to throw a classy party. Wonder when the last time Apple stopped everything for the day and threw a party just to thank the employees? Miss the old days. But Woz, yeah he was cool, and some say he was the soul.

Yup I had Charter and a 3meg line. When I started using their HDTV service my internet started shutting down at about midnight and the HD was just a series of pixels dancing across my screen. First I was told the area was oversold and they were installing a new line as we spoke. Tubes to small I guess. Well when my situation didn't change with the bigger tube the story changed to, the wiring was bad in my house. They installed it so I said fine fix it. Maybe next winter I was told as Charter had a policy of not going into attics around here in the heat of summer. Even if it was their install and I had a repair clause in my contract. Well I switched to Direct TV. Now using the same wiring I was shocked how much better all my TV's got. Spent the day yesterday watching Pain Jain in HD, today its football in HD all day, if I can stand it. MY living room is a gym and I force myself to workout as I watch. So sore today. Don't know how much football I'll get through. Life is good.

In a word, maybe. CNN had a wonderful show on called Reasonable Doubt. Reading the transcript is fascinating. It tells where dna is highly unreliable mainly due to human beings handling, testing, interpreting, actually it seems anywhere humans are involved, the system fails. In the show it talks of a Seattle man jailed for a terrorist bombing in Spain. The FBI had a 10 point match in fingerprints found in remains of the bomb. They still stand by this conviction according to the show. Problem was another man who had a 100% match from Algiers confessed to the crime. Anybody who watches CSI and believes their portrayal of DNA and evidence gathering should read this as I feel anybody on a jury should know this information. The system is improving but still has major problems. If on a jury I wouldn't accept fingerprint or DNA evidence. CNN sent me a transcript upon request, again the name of the show was "Reasonable Doubt"

Yup you are absolutely wrong, how many times do we pay for the same data? I had Electric Ladyland in a quad Record, a regular record, and a few tapes, and a couple of CD's. So can I now download the DATA I paid for numerous times before? I mean is it my fault the industry sold me copies on bad media that was designed to fail? I remember the original advertisements for CD's and how they would last forever. Well my forever isn't over yet so can I go to AllofMP3 and download my data? Can I copy a friends? Can I put this data on the media I prefer in codecs (Ogg, or flac) not offered commercially? Will Logic ever enter this debate? How's this, I don't own the music but I do own a copy of the data, for life. I can pass it on to my heirs, I can use this data in any form I choose. The only problem with this is how to record what I bought? Well IMO the people who are most interested in this should be responsible for maintaining the necessary record of purchase, you know the record companies. So if I get caught with a stolen song the burden off proof of the theft is on the record company and the fine should only be the price of the song, like a buck. Oh and my current data? lets try going with "innocent until proven guilty" Yeah I know proving a negative, but then I hate the record companies for giving us "stars" like Madonna, and Cher.
