Black Americans could never sue the families of slave owners because the accused behaved within the laws of the day and the offended are not alive to hold them liable. Simply speaking, someone has to have to be affected to sue. If you are not affected, then you have no grounds to sue. Simple as that. 2. Why? on World Of Warcraft Crushing PC Game Industry? · · Score: 1

Why is WoW so successful? I personally don't play WoW. I play FFXI. The simple fact is that the game creates a community environment that causes you to enjoy the people more than maybe the game. Sure, it's really cool to camp a dragon so everyone can get the rare item that the beast drops, but what are you really doing? You're interacting with people and hearing about their lives and creating relationships in the game. This creates a loyalty, not necessarily to the game, but to the characters you play with.
For me, I have a finite amount of time to play games. So I have to decide, do I buy game X and spend that time playing alone or building new relationships, or do I keep the game that connects me to several people I've got a relationships with already?

It is their operating system. I remember back in my days of using Windows downloading WinAmp immediatetly for my media player, and downloading, Avant browser (had tabs and used it while firefox was still in beta). Even KDE and Gnome have their own complimentary line of products like Amarok, etc. KDE even integrates its web browser into its file manager. To me, they're exhibiting similar behavior.
Microsoft built the better model for selling their software and then built a a very protective license (one that is popularly emulated). But at least the released an API so you could develop your own applications for Windows and profit yourself.
So, to make a long story short. I find it completely appropriate to use the word 'allow' as opposed to some other word.

Your comment about unsecured laptops etc. is fine and dandy, but you make an assumption that adaquate security measures aren't already attempted to be in place.

I completely understand the policy... As an employee of an Athletic University for a School larger than Kent State, I see first hand how irresponsible these kids (student athletes) can be (Not saying the all are, but we all read our local papers). There is a lot of pressure on these kids and what an immature 18 year old would think nothing of may haunt them for their professional career. College athletes are celebrities in their own right and people are hungry for dirt. Say a hot shot freshman gets drafted by a major sports team and he posted photos of himself at parties drinking as a minor. Now we have dirt. What's worse, if he is a scholarship holder and he's publicly posting his lack of respect for the law and the school he plays for, it doesn't look good on the school, athletes, or staff.

A lot of responsibility is on these kids. Believe me. So, think of it as a rule that insists that student athletes CYA, for their sake and the school's sake.

This boy had invested time talking with this girl and coercing her into a meeting, then spent money for a date. Only a chick would argue that an expectation to give a little back wasn't present. Whether it's right or not, or whether the girl puts out is separate from the expectations of the evening.

Think of what probably happened. The boy is 19. She's out with an older dude. She wanted to be cool. He knew she'd probably go for it. He got to pick the battle field. She felt guilty and told mom. Then mom told dad, and dad called his frat buddy to devise a way to get some money out of it.

Don't get me wrong, the boy was a pig and deserves to be put in prision. But as a victim of a school system that taught me what a vagina was by 5th grade and had me acting out skits of the right and wrong way to handle sexual pressure by 6th grade, I seriously doubt that the girl went to that boy's place without a clear understanding of the boy's expectations of the evening.

Clearly, this girl is stupid and the boy was manipulative. A girl that dumb couldn't possibly scrape up the mental juice to blame MySpace--unless only idiots sue for their own errors in judgment.

Pop a cassette in the stereo. Who would you sue then? The radio stations of the radio manufacturers?
