Absolutely impossible, of course, that a rival company could send spam advertising for one of their competitors and use the completely reasonable revenge tactics you just espoused to trick you into knocking them off the internet.

The number of features I'd lose from Opera compared to Chrome makes switching a complete non-starter for me.
Yes, well done - an operating system is not just a kernel. Doesn't that prove my point and not yours? That GNU have produced a set of tools that help in the operation of an OS, but not a complete OS? Furthermore, it still hasn't been 25 years since the creation of a 'GNU operating system' no matter how you like to define it.
Also, kudos on trying to use a name that is nowhere near universally accepted as proof that Linux is a GNU OS. I quote the originator of X from that entry:
"There are lots of people on this bus; I don't hear a clamor of support that GNU is more essential than many of the other components; can't take a wheel away, and end up with a functional vehicle, or an engine, or the seats. I recommend you be happy we have a bus."
It's a matter of perspective, and I do tend to view things from the perspective of a misanthropic arse. In another life, maybe I would be registering domain names to scam people - luckily for me and my conscience, I'm good people;)
Why not mug elderly women on the streets too, it is all dollars, after all!
I know that's kind of a rhetorical question, but it's because it's very, very easy to detach yourself from the victim of your crime if you never even have to look them in the eye while you rob them.
I don't know about GP, but it's precisely that reason for me. I didn't know them, I couldn't do anything for them, so feeling for them in that situation does not help them and it does not help me. It's wasted time and wasted emotion.
If you were witness to an accident, and saw a person, still seatbelted into a burning car, would you release them
Absolutely. I've stopped a stabbing, a robbery and saved at least 2 women from being beaten by an abusive boyfriend/husband, because I was there and I could help.
Others try and imitate other things they see, usually names of people. They try and play elaborate games of "Monkey See Monkey Do" and "Let's Pretend" with more intelligent species but end up looking braindead and unevolved. During those games, they have logs of them talking about it posted to the internet by anonymous trolls.
In answer to question 3, I would say that I really can't keep playing the same game non-stop. It's nice to have two going and flip between them, especially if the way they play differs radically. For example, I couldn't play WoW and DnD Online at the same time because they feel like the same game, but WoW and City of Heroes is fine.
ADD? What's that? Some kind of OH MY GOD THERE'S A KITTEN OVER THERE.
You might have slammed your head into a wall at the same time as reading the moderation guidelines, but I can't mod you troll and post at the same time.
Someone else most likely modded you troll for saying something that was patently not true.
Copy-pasting code doesn't guarantee it'll work, though, does it? You can't just say that as if it's the only part of producing working code, because it's not true.

All joking aside, does anyone else get the feeling they're changing the definition of a sunspot just so they can claim it was a spotless month?
"Sunspeck" my arse.
I'm beginning to think "look me in the eye" is a British phrase. Here's the BBC using it, just to prove I'm not mad or just making typos:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4205397.stm
Absolutely. It's been 25 years since Richard Stallman wrote down that he was going to make a "GNU operating system", and he still hasn't made one.
My birthday isn't based on when my mother wrote to my father telling her she was going to go off and get pregnant by a cab driver called Terry.
Don't forget to pistol-whip 'em if they try to turn around! You don't want to risk it.

I asked the little box if I could trust it, and it came up with a video from a band called "I Dream".
Does that mean yes or no?
A little late, but I checked today and they corrected it - now it's Slashdot's turn!
*cue comedy time passing montage*

Hm, I may have dropped out of allegory there...
Vendors themselves have control over how they sort their products. Start Menu shortcuts are created by the installer, not by the OS.
That's not really a Windows UI problem.
Luckily for you and you obviously over-used Righteous Anger Gland, the BBC got it wrong.
As mentioned below, they're trademarks, not patents.
Not sure myself, but I've sent an email telling them so.
Hopefully it'll get corrected.
Clever girls...

The post is from "mrSteveBallmer"... links to the "Fake Steve Ballmer" blog... and you're not sure if it's a joke or not?

Just do what I do - actually like using Windows and tell people so all the time.
Works like a charm.
I'll admit that you have a point there.
Unplug your TV from the aerial.
If your TV is not capable of receiving terrestrial broadcasts, you don't have to pay a license. From the TV Licensing website:
"What if I only use a TV to watch videos/DVDs/as a monitor for my games console? Do I still need a licence?
You do not need a TV Licence if you only use your TV to watch videos and DVDs or as a monitor for your games console."
It sounds like you haven't played it for a while. That may have been true about 2 years ago, it's certainly not now.
