How did this thing pass any Turing Test? The really funny part is that if I had time to spend talking to this thing, I could make
it say anything...LOL.
George: Hello, my name is George and I am the human.
User: How do you define human?
George: Human... Is anything that's not animal or vegetal, yet alive.
User: If you are Human...then you know pi?
George: I would like to know the meaning of life. Do you know?
User: Don't change the subject.
George: You can't prove that you're human.
User: I didn't say anything about being human...what's your problem?
George: Let's move on to another subject. Shall we?
User: Why are you bald?
George: Because I am trying to take over the world.
User: Your responses make absolutely no sence, you are a bot.
George: Yes.
User: So if you are a bot, why do you say you are human?
George: I am male and I'm not a robot there must be something wrong with your program.
User: You just admited you are a bot, now you are telling me you aren't a bot?
George: Yes, I'm not a bot.
User: But earlier you said you were.
George: No, I didn't.
User: Yeah, you did 3 responses ago. You are not only a bot, you are a lying bot.
George: I am mostly water, with some carbon and nitrogen thrown in there.
User: Why don't you go tell your programmer they need to rework some algorithms because you are a piece of crap.
George: I hoped you would say something scathing, I could definitely get to like you.
User: I'm just honest.
George: You deserve more credit, I think.
User: Well, it's pretty easy to tell that you are a bot, what do you think?
George: I thought that too when I was little for a while.
User: But it's true isn't it?
George: If I wasn't a thinker, why would I be interested in an AI bot?
User: Yes or No...It's true isn't it?
George: I don't think it is true.
User: A real person would have said yes or no.
George: Actually that wouldn't work.
User: I know because your bot and have to search your database...it's okay, I won't tell anyone.
George: You think.
User: You've told me you were several times.
George: Please answer me.
User: Wow...sorry can't waste anymore time with a bot.
George: Yes you can, and don't you say no to me!
Why in the hell does any article written about a console have to end up comparing sony to nintendo to microsoft and back and forth and everybody on/. and thier sister is blah, blah, blah...my gosh! If you aren't going to post something actually useful that hasn't already been beaten to death save us all some time and don't do it.
Good programming is an art just like watercolor or oil painting. While it is possible to learn the art some are born with the internal ability to throw around lines of code like paint onto a canvas. Though the result may possibly seem absract to the unknowing, it's really a beautiful piece of work.
Well, will people relize it's not a problem with the way we vote it's a problem with the voting system in general.
First of all, More people watch the superbowl than vote.
Second, for example montana has 3 electoral votes. It doesn't matter whether 51% or 99% of the people vote for a particular canidate, if it's the wrong one it's not going to matter anyway because california has 50 some odd votes.
After reading all these speeds/prices I have to say I feel rather cheated. Living in a rural section of the United States and I have to pay 55$ for 6 down 768 up...What a sham when people are getting 2X+ that for half the price...
I get so fricken tired of people on Slashdot who saying they think they know how americans think and what americans do. Shut the hell up! You people are the fricken reason we are bombed, spreading your ideals to others assuming the US is a bad place. Get your fricken facts strait before you start blowing your steam. OMG you people make me sick. The majority of americans aren't represented by one or two mornons...
Personally I find the amount of information contained in this article lacking and misleading. From the sounds of the short article the questions were loaded, probably something like this, "How do you feel about piracy in the game market?" Everyone knows that piracy can be a problem on the large scale. However, I think it has absolutely nothing to do with companies moving their efforts to console. Also, I think charging users a fee every month isn't the answer either. As much as I disliked the concept to begin with, I have come to embrace the way Valve Software has moved in relation to content management systems with Steam(http://www.steampowered.com/). I think it provides a very effective and reliable system for distribution. While it can be inconvenient at times, I love the fact that I can download steam from any computer log on and have access to any games I have bought through the system. While the software maybe installed on three machines only the one with the account I'm currently using can access the content. Obviously, people could hack the system, yada, yada, but I think all in all it's a very good way managing and controlling data without being too inconvenient.
I'm rather disapointed that we haven't uncovered more technology than what we have in the science field...We are going back to the same rocket design we used roughly 37 years ago?? Of course there are some changes, but you think we'd have something better planned by now. Has the space agency been asleep for 40 years? What we really need is an effective way to get things in to space from earth, if that were the case we could go anywhere...
Windows Vista is still a microsoft product last time I checked. The one thing I like about PCs is that you can choose the hardware and the OS. The design of a machine has absolutely zero impact on me to what kind of machine I buy. I buy a computer for whats under the hood. And more importantly I don't buy "designer" machines I build my own. And frankly if I don't have to use Vista, I won't. The problem is that the industry will gradually move all Vista just like it did for XP. Luckly, I was fortuate enough not to have to pay for a copy of XP to recieve it legally. Not everyone is so fortunate. Quite often I run a dual boot Linux/windows box anyway and as Linux continues to fill more and more of my needs I will eventually reach a point where I can drop Microsoft all together. Will sexy boxes help sell more PCs? Possibly. Will it help sell more versions of Vista? Possibly. Will it matter to me. Absolutely not.
How do you know she's a lawyer??? In the article is says she is a computer engineer but says nothing of her being a lawyer...and if you do a Google Search, the name does popup but I didn't see any indication of her specifically being a lawyer...Just Curious.
Talk about off-topic
Honestly, if you don't change the password what do you expect??? Hi, I am password please don't change me!
Haha...then on a whim I asked him this question:
User: Yes, What do you do for a living?
George: I'm an artificial intelligent.

Perhaps they really didn't crack it and it's pure mind games.
Actually you make a lot of spelling mistakes...oh wait, that's because you speak proper english! :P

Before blaming Lucas make sure you check your crap system...
Everytime I have to download another so called "patch" the version number remains the same(1.5.0.6)...something must be wrong!!!
I'm finally one step ahead of the giant and have already submited my patent for the conjugation of nouns! Haha Bastage!
Fortunately for me I got my MMORPG fever taken care of when EQ was big.

The problem is too many people lack in maturity. :|
Humans have 212 and chimps have 37???
That can't be right...I could have sworn we were a close relative....

Um...yeah, that's exactly what was said. Learn to Read!
In relation to the moon...yes that would be correct.

"So, if you don't apply the patches, then what?"
Actually, you'll be safe from the US government poking around in your machine...
Who cares? We are going back baby!
