There is never any foolproof protection in any court.
While the judiciary has drastically improved in the United States, there are still far too many cases with basic failures of interpretation
The only success that I have had legally is when I am blunt in documents to the point of being extreme. I have met some people who simply do not understand "As-is" in product documentation.
There is a problem in your argument.
There should be certain limitations on the use of certain software. For example, Would you use Windows to control a nuclear reactor?
I wonder just how many security "professionals" are actually ethically compromised.
When there is a conflict between money and ethics, money usually wins.
1.) The original victim should immediately report this to the proper authorities.
2.) The original victim was correct by not fighting back. A little physical resistance may simply be blown out of proportion and end up in unintended consequences. For example, if I block someone with my shoulder, I can easily send someone to the ground. If they are intent on forcibly removing your items, make sure it is witnessed or by another person of authority. Being alone with a teacher is like being alone with most slashdotters, you will suddenly be covered in Vaseline.
3.) Before completely vilifying the teacher, the full story should come out. The teacher may not be allowed to change the curriculum. Most teachers are in a no win situation, as the school boards prefer mindless automatons as both students and teachers.
It is simply the best solution I have seen on the market.
I use a variety of solutions, and the best I have found so far is Spybot Search and Destroy along with PSI.
I can even browse porn with Windows now... Imagine that..
In Georgia, It is illegal to have sex if you are not married.
I was married for 15 months, and before the divorce, I agreed to help my ex get back on her feet.. A judge chose to write in the divorce decree for life and didn't even accept my objection.
They refused to register the alimony decree (an illegal decree because it failed to name a levying officer, and failed to recognize a valid exemption) in California so I am left in Federal Court begging help from Lawyers to right a wrong.
The sheriff's office accused me of being on meth during a nervous breakdown when I have never seen it, used it or knew how to use it. There claim was that I was too strong to not be on drugs. I had already lost half my stength due to a chronic illness.
It is a State that meets the very definition of evil.
I can tell true stories that would horrify even the most conservative/protective of individuals elsewhere.
I believe the only way to save the State Of Georgia is too nuke it from orbit.
I guess I had better wait for Georgia to charge me with making Criminal Threats for the above statement in 3.2.1.
Georgia makes the old Soviet Union look like a Free and Democratic society.
There is no such thing as all encompassing freedom. We procure certain hardware and some of it may even be off the shelf.
I deal with the tools given to me to perform the job. I certainly aim to procure hardware which is more open, but certain attitudes will kill the open source movement.
I recently tried to install Fedora 10, and the graphics are completely broken with the nv driver. I was able to complete the installation by guessing at the number of tabs that I had to press in order to complete the installation. It was better than dealing with an entity that complied with misleading the users about capabilities such as Intel.
Buying off the shelf hardware shouldn't disqualify me from using the operating system of my choice. Microsoft does very little well, but Linux outright hates the user.
I hate to say it, but Linux is rapidly becoming a niche os because of attitude. I tried to get my employer to use Linux for test equipment because we need kismet, and too few people are willing to deal with the pain of learning a new OS and dealing with the attitudes of developers.
For GNU/Linux to succeed, egos have to start being checked at the door. There is a way to profit from open source hardware, but freedom should be ensured during the design phase and not after the product is already commercialized.
If you come up with a plan that will cut costs and increase margins, most companies will accept and embrace it. The cries of freedom cause nothing but alienation.
Start putting forward designs that are free or quit complaining.
I can't tell you how many "free" developers have told me RTFM, only to find bugs in their code.
There are no depths to which a lawyer will not sink.
Our law system has long ago abandoned all hope of justice, as we have litigators creating cases just to earn money. Rather than choose an honest way of earning a living, lawyers choose to extract their pound of flesh from everyone. We have essentially ceded our way of life to the lawyers, and I hold pity for our society because lawyers will truly be the death of us all.
Yeah, It is an extremely apt comparison.
Thibgs start out really nice, and as time rolls on you develop this burning feeling that will never quite go away (or so I have been told!).
as NTFS 2008 mysteriously comes out within the next few months which eerily resembles ReiserFS. Money can't buy you love, but it sure as hell can buy you justice.
Thank you, Thank you very much, I take pride in how many bugs I cause.. That is what they get for the long hours, crappy pay, and having to duck chairs at random intervals

In order to get my employer to move in the direction of Open Source, I provided research to show that closed source isn't free of litigation either.
In fact, our chipset supplier ran into trouble with closed source software which still lead to a cease and desist order requiring a class A Change
I do believe the GPL does need to be re-written in a far less verbose manner as many executives still do not understand it.
And this is different from the normal slashdotter's day how? Most slashdotter's would be happy to enjoy only their birthday alone.

It's going to suck no matter what!
