If Netflix had raised their prices by 60% in, say, their third year of existence (2000) and *then* not raised prices for ten years, then you'd have a valid comparison.
Yes, but OP was assuming that the distribution is FAR from symmetric (and therefore FAR from normal). "Far *greater* than half of the world's population are below average" [Emphasis mine]. I think that is a bad assumption.
No, it depends on the time scale. As was said, this is a one-shot increase, not a yearly increase.
In fact, a one-shot increase of 60% at the end of ten years costs you less than a 3% per year increase every year for ten years, assuming you buy equal amounts per year.
I loved MathCAD. Used to use it for a lot of college coursework, back in my Mac days. Wasn't great for word processing or DTP kinds of stuff though, just for calculating and annotating and graphing the calculations. MathCAD objects can be inserted in Word documents now? That sounds awesome.
I couldn't wait for a reply. I found it on IMDB (of course):
Rick: How can you close me up? On what grounds? Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here! [a croupier hands Renault a pile of money] Croupier: Your winnings, sir. Captain Renault: [sotto voce] Oh, thank you very much. [aloud] Captain Renault: Everybody out at once!
This is all totally offtopic, but usually the people who drive waaaay over the speed limit are males. I don't think I've ever seen a story about someone going 120 mph down I-5 and it turned out to be a woman.
Cool your jets dude. First, it's not a $10 purchase. He said $10-15/gallon which equates to $10-15/100 sq.ft. A roof on a 2000 sq ft house might be around 1000 sq if two-story or 2000 sq. ft. if one-story, which means $100-$150, or $200-$300, depending. Second, I believe he may have been talking about the opportunity cost, not the cost of credit. If he spends $300 to paint his roof white, but he could have invested that $300 in a fund that earns 5% interest, then his true cost is more than $300, even if he pays cash.
I tried them and they definiiely do NOT taste the same as the Taco flavor Doritos I remember. I looked at the ingredients and buttermilk and blue cheese were in there, and you definitely taste them and I don't think the original Taco flavor Doritos had that stuff in 'em. At least not the blue cheese. Might have been Parmesan in there too. Yuk. Who puts that shiz on tacos?!
The neighbor kissed the child on the lips, not the parent(s). I don't know that that automatically warrants a police investigation, but it turns out that he was a sick individual, so it was right in this case.

Your reply suggests that you do not believe there is an upper bound, which I think requires further elaboration.

Out of curiosity, what is the original quote?
[Hangs head in shame for not knowing]
She mentions him by name, but that's about it.
That'd be October 31st.

Ah, but this is Slashdot. Nothing goes without being said.
It could *receive* a call, but it could not initiate a call.
Jargon? What, pray tell, is the jargon in GPs post?
Also, dear AC, please tell us what is wrong with his statement.

Either way, she is going to boink someone/something other than you. Sorry.
Elisa says, "How does that make you feel?"
NO there isn't!
This is sounding a lot like fanboyism about fanboyism, i.e. meta-fanboyism.

What if it was "Natural OMG-3 from Flax!" ?
That's only funny when it follows a comment related to size or duration or the like, such as:
Guy: I was in there waaay too long!
Second guy: That's what SHE said!
or
Guy: I brought them a sample but they said it was too small.
Second guy: That's what SHE said!
Keep working on it , you'll get the hang of it.
Sure, but its twice as far that way...

I heard they don't have coke at Costco anymore due to some disagreement with Coca-Cola, just Pepsi products now, but it is still widely available.
We have LEDs in our Samsung fridge. Like it.
I'd love to use LED lighting everywhere but it is too darn expensive for me still.
CFLs suck IMO.
