Thing is, those tens of thousands a year go straight back into OUR economy. Those working employees also become your consumers and the economy then flourishes. That was what made the 50s so roaring; it wasn't the war, it was everyone being put to work.
I have this problem in a class I am finishing up right now and almost failing. I learn best from lectures, but this guy is death by power point and requires MANDATORY NOTE TAKING. If I am taking notes I can't pay attention to what he's saying, just copy it like a stenographer. Not that his lectures are very engaging anyway.
There is no longer a short form and long form. Now there is only one form, which is pretty much what the short form was. The long form has been replaced by the American Community Survey which goes out to roughly 3 million random people I think every year though it may be every other year.
FWIW the census is a huge boon to our descendants for genealogical purposes. My mother is a professional genealogist and makes great use of the older census data to help people find their great great grandparents and whatnot.
My state (NJ) is closer to 10/11k per student, and our poorer urban districts are closer to 22k per student. For the prices we're paying for those failing schools we could be sending all those kids off to boarding school in England!
EA/Bioware adds little perks for people who buy the retail version of the game or preorder it even (a suit of armor, a downloadable character) that you really want to have in a game you have a strong desire to play (Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2).
Sony utterly gimps your gameplay experience.
I am not bothered by one (and hell think it's a good idea) guess which one that is.
You can have turn based tactics though (hell that's pretty much D&D nowadays). I just don't like telling a bunch of units to go fight and in CivIV I couldn't tell units which units they were supposed to attack!
My only wishes for the civ games has always been for a more in depth combat systems (maybe not Rome: Total War in depth, but at least Star Trek: Birth of the Federation in depth) and a good way to create your own civilization (unique units, leaders, etc)
'The writer Douglas Adams observed how technology that existed when we were born seems normal, anything that is developed before we turn 35 is exciting, and whatever comes after that is treated with suspicion.'"
Looks like Logan's Run had the right idea.
I am a customer, I pay them. I vote with my dollar, but before that I bitch and complain. Companies that don't want to lose my dollars from them acquiesce.
In this case of course, I support what they're doing. In other TOS situations, such as the banning of Mystere in Everquest, I did not.
Really, it's appalling that teachers aren't some of our most highly-paid professionals.
They are in New Jersey, and it has killed our economy and is driving us into bankruptcy as we try to pay for it. Our urban public schools charge two to three times as much per pupil as a British boarding school would.
the local grandees have a huge sense of entitlement. (They are also the area's Nimbys
Now someone thinks they have the right to comment on Council decisions - and the toys get thrown out of the pram
>Add in the tendency of youth to rebel against authority, push boundaries, and do stupid things, and >you end up with probably one of the more stressful places outside of operating rooms.
If only schools would stop trying to kill this character trait our country might get back to being someplace worth living.
This nation is supposed to be one of a bunch of rebels.
How about an ultimate fantasy football game that has all the players and the ability to create your own teams including uploading images from your PC to use on jerseys and helmets...
They have these in New Jersey every day. A police checkpoint set up to check your vehicle registration, inspection stickers, license, insurance and seat belt. NJ 101.5 (FM) usually announces them.

I would prefer Apple not to choose my morals for me.
There are no laws revolving around renting R rated movies to minors, and already existing pornography laws should cover pornographic games...
We were originally going to be called Columbia. That's why Washington D.C. is the District of Columbia.
Not to mention pro-Military and pro-war as well.
Did it say American Community Survey on it? The census still runs it and I wouldn't be surprised if this year's went out at the same time.

Where are my mod points when I need them!?
The company said piracy affected sales, the price of video games, and employment in the video game industry."
Game prices have been consistent for 20 years. I remember finding an old kmart or toys or us catalog recently that had Sonic the Hedgehog for 59.99

Radar detectors are legal in NJ. They are only illegal in Virginia and federal territory (Washington DC, military posts)
I'm more amazed by the 3yo father of 7 than I am the lesbian father.

Hrm, I wonder if I could use this to prove British ancestry and go back to the motherland from the US!
