It's like transitioning from a Nintendo DS to a DS Lite. Trim the bulk, make it look a little cooler, we still get the same stories, but what about the colors? Not saying the current color scheme is horrible, but i could've done with a little bit of change. I still like it, just not overly impressed.
Of course. I just haven't seen such a cut-off to a succesful console. The PS2 seems to be popping games out left and right with little signs of a major slowdown. If you really like those "xbox" games then you have no choice but to get the new system. I myself can make that sacrifice. This console war will definately be divided.
amen to that bro! i was lucky enough to have a friend that new how to install the modchip and hard drive(120gb) that i bought. it is a very capable media machine now. oh yea, and it plays games too!:)
I mean, they are adding fishing to Zelda simply for the sake of having the gimmick of kids bobbing and dipping their remote controller to mimic fishing.
Zelda games have had fishing for quite some time now.
Nintendo is FORCING innovation, Sony is evolving it.
Sony is doing little to evolve anything. The sensor only adds tilting capabilities to its controller where the wiimote can also sense depth. You might as well just add another button and call it "evolution." No one can "force" innovation. Nintendo is making room for it. Remember that the Wii will feature the "shell" remote which the new Smash Bros. will be using.
Wario Ware: Twisted uses the same technology as the PS3 controller. The wiimote truly adds some "evolution" to a tried and true formula.
The only games that can't migrate to the Wii are games that depend on having pretty, pretty graphics for much of their appeal, like the mainline Final Fantasy games or games like Shadow of the Colossus.
the only reason the wii can't have a game like shadow of the colossus is because sony makes it. the gamecube has the graphics capabilities to take on the PS2 and the wii has some potential for some very sweet graphics. there is no reason why it shouldn't be able to pull out beautiful looking games. it's all depending on who untaps the power of the system.
Oh trust me. I whole heartedly agree with you(on just about all of it). I just believe that most people will shell out the cash for those games and, while they realise that they just bought a PS3, they might as well get more games.
Shadow of the Colossus is my new favorite title and I'm gunning for the Wii as soon as it is out. Square and Enix produced magnificent titles in the past and together they still tend to do things right. Radiata Stories anyone? I really am starting to hate console exclusivity though. It's far too expensive now to own multiple systems. I currently own a PS2 an Xbox and a GC, but that never posed a problem because they were all affordable at the time I purchased them.
what? are you kidding me? i play DDR, but i have no misconceptions about it being cool at all. is it hella fun? you better believe it! DDR very rarely translates to a good watching experience.
ok, but you take short breaks right? it's quite impressive that you do, but i think their concern stems from the general gaming popoulous which isn't very athletic. i myself do heavy lifting for about 45 mins straight but that's because my body is used to it. when i stop working out for a month(or more)and go back to it, the first three days are hell.
i perfectly understand the point that is trying to be made here, and i won't say that there will be no difficulty in doing so, but it's all about conditioning. give yourself a week with that game and you'll be supporting your arms for a great deal longer than ten minutes. besides, your arms aren't fully extended. they'll remain somewhat close to your body. your elbows will eventually stick to your body for support. it's not that much of a work out because it will mostly be your forearms and triceps doing all the work.
It'd be superb if they would implement online multiplayer. people swinging their wii-motes wildly across the U.S.! (and wherever else Star Wars is wildly popular)
You forgot the fact that Nintendo doesn't overcharge for all of its products. It seems with Apple you get charged an extra 20% per "i" included in the product name. If Nintendo followed that trend...i'd probably still buy their products.
This is something I notice in some PCs as much as i do in NPCs. Most gamers would rather find the easiest way to acheive their goal rather than showing any play style. For instance in a game like Fable I see a lot of people go for the exact same skill set. While I was pleased with the amount of creativity I found in some players, I did not find many who played for fun rather than for power. Same goes for the Multiplayer in Halo 2. The "n00b combo" was very popular at on point (and may still be) and it was what most players would go for. Hardly a change in their strategies. I may as well have been playing bots. If i can see some real change in behaviour rather than static AI sequences that would greatly please me. The way it seems now is that the majority of players seek out X amount of challenge and Y amount of power to defeat the challenge (where Y = X + 50). Why can't we have an AI that will change it's strategy in order to avoid defeat at a disadvantage. That's what we as humans would do.

Without real backwards compatability on the 360 and little to no new games on the Xbox M$ might be trying to force us into buying the 360.

The Aztecs counted by twenties and also were a mathematically advanced civilization. Does that mean they counted with their toes?"
What does Sony hope to accomplish with this?
So...why do i want a core PS3?

Read: Final Fantasy XIII, Metal Gear Solid 4
Hah! Nonsense. This ship is unsinkable!
No kidding. There is a sports bar across from there offices!
I live in Id Software's hometown. If you want i can go stalk him for you ^_^

well i can understand where they gotta make some profit, but it's not an ipod nano that costs $80-$100 to make and they sell it for $200-$250.

I'm seriously hoping this won't become an issue. I can't imagine anyone making such a huge fuss over a little exercise, but i do live in America.

Stop-n-pop doesn't spell stealth. Emphasizing the fact that you need to take cover in a game seems like you need to be pretty careful .

All we really know is that Uwe Boll will not be directing. everyone rejoice!
