So here we are, once again, with Locke's ideal of a sound mind in a sound body.
It's not just Locke that figured this out. Some of our greatest thinkers, warlords, martial arts masters, etc. have come up with the same conclusion. If this serves as "scientific proof" to something that has been known for ages then lets hope more people will get off their asses.
i'd choose linux if it were better for gaming. so unfortunatley, i choose to stick with windows at the moment. i hold no allegiance to software though. i use what works best for me.
Agreed. Even with the expanding capabilities of consoles the PC has nigh limitless possibilities. PC Gaming IMO is getting better while the consoles are now being bogged down with crappy games. All in all PC gaming isn't dying, consoles are just gaining tremendous popularity. Everyone wins!
so....when i build my new PC and install some form of Linux on it (which i'm highly considering) will you help me out? or at the very least point me to community that isn't cut-throat?
just for s*** and giggles i tried playing with the wii-mote in my left hand and navigating with nunchuck in the right and i must say the only problem i had playing this way was my lack of coordination between my cerebral lobes. i caught myself waving the wiimote in the direction i wanted to move in and link was running around a bit drunk looking. otherwise, once i got used to it the mechanics were unaffected. i could slash and aim just fine.
Christ I hate how people think that iPod's are the only thing someone would hook up to car's sound system via aux-in.
People associate products usually by the most popular brand. "Band-Aid" is pretty commonly used because adhesive bandages is too cumbersome. In the south if you want a soda pop you ask for a "coke." It's nothing new, but it can be rather annoying
Sony stopped making the PSone. Sony is expected to stop making the PlayStation 2 Slimline before the PS4 comes out. So after the optical drives in existing PS1 and PS2 units wear out, what are players supposed to use?
The PSP with its many many ports of PSX games coming out conveniently at the right time.
A steady supply chain? Rumble is last gen? You've got to be kidding me!
Talk to the people who run GameStop, talk to the people who run BestBuy, and they'll tell you that the demand is unprecedented and that they give us kudos for managing to keep a very sophisticated supply chain moving.
Phil, the people at slashdot have had several conversations with these people and we'll tell you a different story. No regrets? I hope not, but i do hope this generation knocks off SCE from its high chair so that you guys don't screw up the following generation with your pompous attitude.
No need to read TFA. The interview offers very little insight beyond Phil Harrison and SCEA believing that their little baby can do no wrong.
So, the very first question is weather this is related to global warming or not. What about.. Or it may be due to hot magma underneath or some previously unknown "conveyor belt"?
Not jumping to conclusions or anything, are we??
No. We have a mat for that. The "Global Warming" square is right next to the "Violent Videogames" and "Acts of Terror" squares. You cant miss it.

Most American states rival the size and population of European countries. On a small scale internet voting is ok. Large scale internet voting would be disastrous!
I totally get the point, but what i really want to argue is that these ultra high-end graphics aren't that necessary. I can think of various games from past generations that have high quality graphics and continue to be enjoyable.
Vagrant Story
Resident Evil 4
Shadow of the Colossus
FFXII
Smash Bros: Melee
Zelda: Twilight Princess
I guess you just need to excuse my fanboyism. Perhaps its only wishful thinking that people will look past ultra realistic graphics.
Despite Gears of War selling around the same amount as Cars (both around 2 million units), the cost in time and money to create Gears was substantially greater than the cost to create the Pixar-licensed title.
But is Cars really that great of a game? It sold 2 million because it was a popular movie and the game's sole purpose was to rake in more cash. In a year is Cars going to continue to sell as many units as Gears? Moreover, in many years are people going to care about Cars or will they remember how awesome Gears was and how they can't wait for part 2 to release?
the gamecube was still more powerful than the PS2. It was lack of third party support that killed the cube. the wii might not have a huge graphics leap over the last gen consoles like the 360 and PS3 have, but that doesnt mean you can't get great games with awesome graphics out of it. The friggin PS2 and DS are still sellin like hotcakes! Why? awesome games.
when are people going to learn that graphics aren't the end all for games. This generation it just way too expensive just to enjoy these graphics. the PS3 and 360 are great consoles, but not enough people will get the most out of these until well into 2008. until then, why not enjoy plenty of wii titles that let you make "vwoosh* noises and have some fun? Lucas Arts need to quit being prejudice and give us what we want!
One way this could work is to have some damn good in-game cameramen. Otherwise, the audience is stuck watching an unattractive geek sit down playing with a keyboard/mouse combo. Hardly exciting. Yea, i've seen plenty of player POV shots and "surveillance" cameras that track the in-game action, but if they were to actively follow the action with some dynamic camera angles it they might have something.
However, constantly moving and refocusing your eyes on different things can have a slight effect on your eyesight.
I'll have to disagree because everything has a slight effect on your eyesight. I havent had a change in prescription in years and i've been an avid videogame (and FPS) player for even longer. It's amazing to be able to focus on the flight patterns of a fly for a short while and on occasion come close to catching them mid-flight. I think sometimes its more of an annoyance because its hard not to pick up on small details people tend to ignore.
This one is a literal wall that proved to be extremely difficult. Not only was the dungeon difficult but if you didn't beat the evil wall by the time it reached you it would start one shotting your party members.

That summary, in an exxagerated sense, only mockingly, was informative...sort of. It tells of something vague, but only just enough...sort of.

well, son of a bitch!

There's a difference between minimalistic and tacky
