I had success using the Free Loader disc for my import Gamecube games on the Wii. This isn't a solution to unlock the region coding for Wii games, but it only costs maybe $10ish.
Music can make or break a relationship. It's always an easy topic to start off with because everyone listens to music. If you don't you're either deaf or very boring and even deaf people like to "listen" to bass lines. People find it easy to discuss their musical tastes so its an efficient ice breaker. However, deeper psychological connotations of musical taste differs greatly from person to person.
No No. Just about anyone from AOhelL customer service is a CSOH. Just google "AOL" and "unsubscribe" or something of the sort. They already have plenty of websites:P
I'd like to see more attention paid to AI and gameplay elements in the future.
I agree, but the problem is convincing the devs to use the "all-mighty power" of the PS3
to give us some amazing AI over graphics. It wont happen. The game won't sell because it isn't "HD" enough.
The DS is still going strong. There's enough titles from square-enix alone to make a fanboy salivate. This isn't surprising news as many people are content with the previous generation of systems and titles available for it. I know plenty of games from the last generation that i haven't even gotten around to playing yet.
dude, i'm absolutely amazed that you think that i'd get paid for some of these comments. actually, i'm offended. there's no doubt that sony is run by greedy, power hungry people. i wouldn't take money from them if they were giving it away for free. I was hoping that i'd be able to skip the ps3 this generation of consoles (i was lucky enough to own all three last round) but i came to the stark realization that SotC was indeed made by sony themselves. i was glad to hear that most of the exclusives were jumping ship, but unless the dev team that gave us ico and SotC leaves sony i have little choice but to purchase one (obviously a few years from now) or camp out at my brother's house.
You are a poor judge of these things my friend. I am a Nintendo fanboy through and through, but i am absolutely tired of the "zomg P$3 is teh suxx0rz" i've been hearing. There is a market for this thing. Sony just didnt realize how retarded they've been to see that this market is too small. Someone could utilize many of the features the PS3 has to offer and get their $600 worth. My brother proved that. I'm just going to quit hating and perhaps try to find the good in the bad. I don't hold allegiances to software/hardware (exception: nintendo) but i know bad business when i see it. I also know that eventually there will be a game for the PS3 that i must play. The next Shadow of the Colossus will certainly be my weakness.
Im not thrilled about getting a PS3 anytime soon, but at $600 you really are getting a great deal. I think they should lower the price of their largely inferior 20GB model to $300-$400 in order to sell them. A person willing to spend that much on the 20GB model will surely want it for gaming and that can bring up sells in the software dept.
They usually only do this with the handheld games(atleast the nintendo handhelds from what i've noticed). I have been able to go to Fry's Electronics and buy GBA or DS Games for a few bucks under MSRP within the first week of its release.
agreed!
i absolutely love the sleeper hits. ico, shadow of the colossus, okami, rez, katamari...i think we need a game thats creative and different but that has the marketing that a non-gamer or a "retread" gamer might notice. we need to train people to look at different types of games.
its like the pachinko machines in japan. you're not actually gambling, but if you take the balls the pachinko machine gives you to the counter they give you a ticket which in turn gives you a voucher for more pachinko balls that the nice people conveniently located around the corner will "trade" for money.
whos going to stop people from doing the same thing through second life?
Star Fox is still best played on the N64. Starfox adventures was 20hrs of beautifully rendered boring fetch quests with a good 18 seconds of real starfox action in between each area. Then they made this crappy multiplayer starfox game that was riddled with control issues. When will we get our beloved on-rails shooter back?
Try planning on driving 20 miles out of the city in order to catch one. Avoid the popular stores because the chance is slim there. Just do a little research and calling around instead of hoping to be at the right place at the right time.
Now, can anyone help me find some accessories? I can't find any wii-motes or classic controllers or anything.
That's the problem. this world is full of stupid people. They might not make money off of most people the spam gets to, but if you cast a big enough net you're bound to catch something(including some dolphins). Millions of pennies still add up to thousands of dollars.
I always figured that there was some sort of mathematical tuning in videogames. I mean, there has to be a better way of balancing a game than just plugging in numbers by trial and error. Maybe its that i've played too many RPGs where math is an obvious factor, but every punch or every bullet has a numerical value right? It only makes sense to me that there would have to be some kind of number crucher on the dev team.
Hopefully they drop the price on the PS3 in the U.S. by the time some must-have exclusive titles come out(FFXIII) because im going to go for the cheapest PS3 possible when that happens, but only if they have a decent library. I would sure hate to miss out on the next Shaddow of the Colossus.
I remember the German exchange student in my highschool years relating a story to me that fist fights and such outward violence is viewed as idiocy. He told me they tend to resolve conflicts verbally. Sure, they might swear at each other, but rarely does anyone resort to violence. He also played tons of GTA and said he did enjoy videogames. The guy woldn't hurt a fly. He was one of the coolest, most laid back people i've ever met, but the pot might've had something to do with that.
Music is universal. We may not always agree on which music we listen to, but nevertheless people form better relationships based on musical tastes. Now a few are complaining that this is hardly relevant, but i'll argue that any insight someone can gain on videogames is a good thing. They may never understand videogames, but atleast this brings them closer to understanding some of the appeal. You shouldn't be all proud because you're part of this videogame subculture that "they'll never get." Instead, embrace the fact that an outsider to gaming may see it as a better thing.
Too much of anything can be considered poisonous. What we usually consider poison is something that takes a very small amount to kill you. A small amount of substance X can be too much where it takes a large amount of substance Y to be too much.

Or even Descent 3. You can still find people hosting these games albeit in very thinned out quantities.

He calls the Akrid attractive far too many times in this review. What do we call that? Insectophile?

the irony? sony winning using a nintendo game.

so....the 65 cents is the cost of the bullet right? :P
