You're severely misinformed, battery technology has improved quite a bit over the past few years.
Here's an example, at 12 Volts this battery can supply 325 Amps continuous. That's about 3500 watts, and this battery weighs just 442 grams (less than a pound) and it costs only $50.
If you want even higher wattage, you can get higher voltage batteries, at 37 volts this battery pack can supply a whopping 12000 watts continuous, and weighs only about 3 pounds.
The problem is that ordinary matter is too empty: trying to catch neutrino with ordinary matter is like trying to catch air with a tennis racket. I predict that extremely dense forms of matter (like the kind you find in a neutron star) would have no problem catching neutrinos. This will even allow miniaturized handheld neutrino detectors. This is way out of our league for now.
This sounds really neat. Sometimes I just want to write a small algorithm and test it while it's fresh in my head. About 15 years ago I wrote an entire game on a handheld HP 200LX handheld PC, using Turbo C while I was vacationing far away from real computers. It's a challenge and it's quite fun. Don't mock it until you try it.
I still can't figure out anything on the ribbon. The buttons on the ribbon seem haphazardly placed and I can never find the feature I am looking for. It always ends with me opening help, waiting for help to load, typing in the feature I want, waiting for the search feature to run and finally click the sequence of ribbon buttons to get it.
Instead of this idiotic ribbon they should make it so you can just type in what you want it finds it, like the start menu does in win7. I don't care what ribbon click sequence I have to click to get "conditional formatting", i just want to type "condit...." and with autocomplete it should find what I want, without making me click half an hour at that retarded ribbon. NO, Microsoft rather put a stupid button bar and make me click it endlessly trying to find what I want.
As for Windows 8.... I've already said Microsoft is delusional and thinks people LOOOOOOOOOVE windows. Overwhelming majority of people use windows because it runs all the software they want and need. They don't care that it's windows, they care that it runs their windows applications. Nobody likes windows, but we all use it because it runs the programs we have collected over the past 15 years. But this is where microsoft is going to fail: personal computing is increasingly being moved to the web, google has the right idea for the future with their chromebooks, the majority of computer users don't care anymore what OS their computers run, the browser has become the new OS.
For now businesses keep microsoft afloat because big business has invested huge into windows software, it's just not practical for them to give up their investment and start anew. If a computer is outdated, they get a new windows computer because it runs their software, and if the software is outdated then they will get a new software that runs on windows because it runs on all the computers they got. But this might change, MacOS can run MS Office and a majority of the software that the business needs. I work for a big business and I notice they're already trying out macos as windows replacement. By making office for macos, windows is pulling the rug from under windows. MacOS has its own stupid quirks for now, but I can tell this company will not hesitate to ditch windows to go with macos if push comes to shove. This is bad news for dell and lenovo too, windows' failure would be catastrophic for their business.
A 21" monitor with 16:9 ratio is cheaper than a 20" monitor with 4:3 ratio. But if you believe you are getting better deal with the 21" monitor then you are mistaken because the 20" monitor actually has more screen area than the 21" monitor.
That's right! 21" monitor at 16:9 is smaller than 20" at 4:3.

No, the 4:3 aspect ratio is not going to return, and for good reason: a monitor with 4:3 ratio has 12% more screen area than the same diagonally sized monitor that has a 16:9 ratio. To put it in other terms, a 21" monitor with 16:9 ratio has less screen area than a 20" monitor with a 4:3 ratio. That translates into cheaper manufacturing, less screen material to use for more diagonal size.
Sure, you rather have a 4:3 monitor and maybe you're willing to pay a bit extra... but here's what the advertising looks like: 21" wide-screen monitor for $188.44 20" monitor for $192.00
Which one are you going to choose? Which one do you think the average Joe going to choose?
note: my example prices are based on exactly $1 per square inch.

what kind of games are these guys playing?
Teachers never buy textbooks, they get them for free from the publishers for being a teacher and they simply use what they got this year because it was free to them.
Let's face the real facts here: arithmetic hasn't changed at all in the past 100 years. American History from 1500 to 1900 hasn't changed in the past 100 years. Newtonian physics hasn't changed in the past 100 years either. Unless you're teaching kids about quantum electrodynamics, then there's no reason to use a new edition of a textbook every year.
Okay... now there's the funniest part - fair use. Under Title 17 section 107, it is considered fair use (not subject to copyright) if the copying is done "for nonprofit educational purposes". So you can legally copy all your school textbooks and give them out for free since they are all for nonprofit educational purposes.
The textbook industry is a leech on the education system.
It's sad that we root for a scumbag like Kim Dotcom. It's sad, because he's an underdog criminals in a system of super criminals. Chris Dodd is no less scumbag criminal mastermind than Kim Dotcom, but Chris Dodd bribed the right people to make it seem like he's legit. Don't get me wrong, I also root for Kim Dotcom, but let's not forget he's a scumbag... he's just not as big scumbag as the "legal" scumbags that currently rule the world.
I see a potential market for giant oversize needles. Rich people can buy giant needles and pygmy camels to convince themselves they can still get into heaven. This guy's on the right track.
Sharing without the copyright holder's consent has existed and will exist regardless of DRM. Humans are social creatures, we like to share stuff. We've had 100 thousand years of sharing knowledge through spoken language and thousands of years of sharing knowledge through written language. Our impressive ability to share is what differentiates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. Sharing of knowledge and ideas is an indispensable component of the human success story. The whole idea of "must not share" goes against the very foundation of human nature and is an insult to the roots of our civilization.
Sony, the company that jacked up the price of whitney's songs just 30 minutes after her death. Who can blame them though? They're in it for profit and so is everyone else.
2048x1536? My 21" monitor isn't even that high resolution and I can barely see the pixels. You're trying to tell me a 10" ipad is going to have higher resolution than my 21" monitor? Seems like a waste, especially on an iPad.
It's not a law, it's some stupid government agency.
According to soca.gov.uk web site: "SOCA tackles serious organised crime that affects the UK and our citizens. This includes Class A drugs, people smuggling and human trafficking, major gun crime, fraud, computer crime and money laundering."
Yep. You wouldn't smuggle people, you wouldn't traffic humans... sending that mp3 to your friend is just as horrible! Imagine the poor industry executives that can't afford to fill their luxury yacht with cocaine and hookers! Just think of the agony of having multi-million dollar luxury yacht without any hookers or cocaine!
Let's face the facts: They got rich building a business where all they have to do is bring the music from people in group A to people in group B. In the olden times you needed expensive machinery to stamp the records and distribute them, somebody had to pay for that huge initial cost. Many years down the road the process got a bit cheaper with cassette, but still not something an artist could pay for. It got even cheaper with CD's... and the digital revolution brought the cost to negative values. YES, you can make money by simply offering your mp3 on a web site that has ads on it.
.... Now back to the world of the music distribution industry: why are you paying them when even the distribution itself is the source of the revenue??
GIVE ME A BREAK. Their outdated business model needs to go, they just didn't get the clue yet... they still think they are rendering a valuable service. Reality is quite to the contrary, they are taking profits that would otherwise go to artists. The big media distribution companies are the reason why artists are starving. They need to go. Some artists are too dumb/brainwashed/high to realize this, but some recognize it and embrace today's world.
I know, right? It's so totally unfair, how's Apple supposed to make any profit at all when everyone's copying their very original ideas! They're barely turning any profit at all from iDevices as it is, and if evil Samsung has their way Apple will lose what little profit margin they have!
Oh crap, reality called: turns out Apple's making huge profit, and it's bigger than Microsoft. Microsoft founder Bill Gates has turned into a philanthropist and turns out Steve Jobs was a misanthropic lunatic before he died. Apple's making more profit than Exxon or Walmart. Want more reality? Apple's original ideas were stolen from others too. Apple's crap isn't new, it's existing shit marketed to general populace. It's the technology made in a way so soccer moms and douche bags can use it too. The only thing Apple discovered is that soccer moms and douche-bags are a huge market of people with money to waste.

Obvious things are obvious.
Request: I need a way to quickly enter a specific character on the screen. Obvious solution: Make a button.
There's plenty of prior art: Japanese fonts look like a bunch of emoticons to me. Japanese keyboard is full of emoticon buttons. DONE.

Yeah, it's such a tease. It's like a hot girl waving at you at a bar, and then you realize she's waving at a guy behind you.
I say enough with the tease. No more close passes. Either hit this, or go away.
Yeah, everyone knows a tiny piece of metal can't do any damage no matter how fast it's moving...

No, they checked already in 1960, there is nothing but bottom dwelling invertebrates there too.
