Doesn't mean we can't improve. Social skills are a learned thing, I don't think they come naturally. Perhaps a little easier for some folks, but it can be done. There's always hope! I'm walking proof.
I'm not talking about my feelings here, I'm pretty thick-skinned. In fact most folks are pretty thick-skinned. Most folks won't get, "hurt," by your words. What they will do is actively disregard your arguments, whether they're accurate or not, simply because you aren't willing to approach them with any amount of equality or respect. Trot in on your high horse and people will instantly resent you.
Arguing like you do just demonstrates a profound lack of self-respect. If you really cared about your opinion, and about changing minds you would argue with a little more integrity and respect. Instead you get your warm-fuzzies by belittling people you view as less intelligent.
You can question my knowledge anytime. That I don't care about. You have absolutely no reason to be be so insulting. I might've given your argument some credit, had you tried to at least find some sort of middle ground. Instead your objective is to simply tear someone down. You will get exactly nowhere in a debate doing that.
I don't know how you ever came to the conclusion that I don't understand chemistry on such a basic level. I was very obviously referring to chemical weapons of the WMD variety when I said that WMD had to be, "nukes, bio, or chemical in nature." My reference was to the three most widely-known WMD classifications.
I do not appreciate your rude and condescending tone. There's no need for you to use phrases such as, "Okay? Got it?" to make a point.
What you're saying is technically correct, but as far as language is concerned you're being literal where you needn't be.
I was originally pointing out that ABC was making a bigger deal out of those bombs than they needed to. WMDs are generally regarded as things that wipe out large population segments. The attempt that would've been made with the toner cartridges would've destroyed aircraft in-air. That would've caused some destruction on the ground were it to happen in a populated area, but nothing to the degree that is widely considered to be on the level of WMD.
More to the point most people, when referring to chemical weapons, are referring to things like nerve agents. It may not be literally or etymologically accurate use for the word, "chemical," but the phrase, "chemical weapons," in modern military parlance refers to specific weapons that, "make deliberate use of the toxic properties of chemical substances to inflict death."
So when they say, "new engine," you think they are really saying, "updated engine?"
I don't honestly blame you, Bethsoft has an awful track record on stability and technical excellence. But that quote could just as easily mean they are actually creating a new engine, ground up designed for sandbox play. According to the devs their entire studio has been working full time since the release of Fallout 3 (save the DLC crews) on TES:V.
I guess I'm just hopeful you're wrong...unless they manage to get things kinda right this time. I can forgive quest bugs, but the overall engine quality is terrible.
I'm concerned with the idiotic requirement for HDCP equipped displays, even when running games.
I'd buy this in a heartbeat, but I'm not replacing my perfectly adequate 24" monitor because it was made six months before HDCP became widespread. Fuck Sony for all I care.
To be fair, it's trading perhaps 10 lives for a 100 or so. That's the idea anyway, how and if it works out in practice is generally voodoo bullshit (e.g. Operation Iraqi Killing Fiel...er, "Freedom").
Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. My personal preference was for Lux, but I found Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heady, but with just a touch of mellow smoothness. Life Buoy, on the other hand...
Pedantic me says that since they own the patents, it's just like if one of us was licensing the patent. Ergo, turning that option on at build-time would have been legally hunky-dory.
I pity the ignorant. I do not pity the willfully ignorant, but I pity the ignorant.
Although with some common sense one could tell this is a scam, your very presence here means your use and understanding of technology far exceeds that of the median average, in nearly any western country. You needn't be an ass about that.

You don't care about being listened to?
You don't care about influencing people?

ABC news referred to the toner cartridge bomb as a WMD the other day. WMD have to be nukes, bio, or chemical in nature. Blegch.
So when they say, "new engine," you think they are really saying, "updated engine?"

*facepalm*
The original joke when Fallout 3 came out, everyone said it was just, "Oblivion with guns." Hence the above joke saying, "Fallout 3 with swords."
That article says exactly nothing about using an updated GameBryo engine.

Well, I mean, really, that's dumb.
After all, Sega does what Nintendon't.
I mean saving 100 lives via the death of 10, but like I said that's typically bullshit.
To be fair, it's trading perhaps 10 lives for a 100 or so. That's the idea anyway, how and if it works out in practice is generally voodoo bullshit (e.g. Operation Iraqi Killing Fiel...er, "Freedom").
By which I mean, it's just bullshit.
Great! I'll buy some Lotus Se7ens!
You mean to tell me that a machine that doesn't have the components to interpret your script, can't interpret your script?
And all this time I've been lead to believe...
Try teaching people to turn the amp down when you plug in the device. Pops and clicks can get pretty loud when you insert a TRS connector.
I wish you luck in your endeavors!
(PS: I think you're right, but there are some issues involved here that need some extra engineering.)
I only voted for Bob Barr last time around because I couldn't stomach voting for Obama, and really didn't want McPalin.
But I strongly dislike Barr's stance on government issued monopolies on ideas (Copyright, patents, etc.).

Like the Rose Garden? I'm sure Mr. Allen rent it out to everyone for a tidy fee.
What gives him the idea he can take on a dozen major tech companies out of the Valley?

Funny me laughs at this.
Pedantic me says that since they own the patents, it's just like if one of us was licensing the patent. Ergo, turning that option on at build-time would have been legally hunky-dory.
Funny me laughs at it again though.
Constructive criticism said sans doucheiness breeds improvement.
Criticism said to build oneself up breeds contempt.
