A bit late so, this is probably going to be get buried. Oh well. My problem with the EC isn't the slightly skewed representation. I understand that and can absolutely live with it. I hate the winner-takes-all nature. If every X state gets 75% of the X vote, and every Y state gets 75% of the Y vote, the EC has one outcome. If every X state gets 51% of the X vote, and every Y state gets 99% of the Y vote, the EC has.. the exact same outcome? What madness is that? Logistically, this solution was the only feasible once in the 1700s. But we've progressed way past that now.
Allowing proportional delegation within a state's EC (which Maine and Nebraska have implemented) makes the EC more representative of the country as a whole, while still allowing for small states to have their EC advantages. Also, it would help eliminate swing states. Notice how neither R nor D visit neither California nor Texas? The might have more of a reason to if winning 51% or 60% of a state made a difference. But nah... apparently we're OK with just letting Ohio and Florida be the kingmakers every 4 years.
Men are more likely to be willing to submit to gaming companies. Everyone knows they pay less and demand longer hours than the equivalent jobs in other industries. Women should consider themselves lucky they're only 21% of that workforce.
Mathematically, which is harder to solve for, Go or Chess? Is this some sort of diversity thing that they've started using Go over Chess?
They started using Go instead of Chess because computers already defeated the top human Chess players over a decade ago. Go is significantly harder for a computer because of the immense possibility space.
I was a naysayer as well, but it's actually incredibly useful in real life. Going out with friends and need to split the bill? Have one person put it on their card and everyone else VenMo them. Much easier to than cash (3 people owe $11, who has change?), no IOUs needed. Someone I don't see often just brought tickets for me? VenMo them now so they're not in the hole for the time being. Wait, did I Bill back for when he spotted me parking 2 weeks ago? If I paid cash, I have no idea with my lousy memory. If only I had paid VenMo, then I'd know for sure. Etc etc.
A combination of two major factors. First off is the major pre-order backlash that's growing, which was further fueled this year by disappointing releases like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, No Man's Sky, Street Fighter V, and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. The other factor is the Amazon Prime 20% discount for pre-orders AND newly released (within 2 weeks) games. Yes, that's right -- I can NOT pre-order, wait for the reviews to come out, then decide a week later, and STILL pay 20% than someone who ordered from GameStop. There's no drawbacks because the chance they'll "out of stock" (Ha! in this digital age?) is pretty unlikely because they're Amazon. So, unless I'm some fiddly obsessive who cares about collecting the special pre-order skins or starter gear that won't even matter after level 6, why would I pre-order from GameStop?
Makes sense, left turns "cost" more than right ones is pretty common sense. Waze got on-board with this recently as well, with an option to "avoid difficult left turns". Before that, it would sometimes make the frustrating decision to send you on a route that has a left turn into 4 lane, no-light intersection because it was 1000 ft shorter. Of course, it's not perfect yet, but I've definitely seen an improvement.
NotTheOnion is all true news stories. The general gist is that the headline/premise is so ludicrous that one's first thought is "It must be The Onion", but then it's not. In reference to GP's headlines, I've heard at least 4 of them, but the Venezuela one threw me for loop. Here's the article, if anyone is interested: https://www.pri.org/stories/20...
Seems like fool's gold (aka pirate). There's already a torrent of junk when it comes to any sort of search, but that's to be expected from something free. Maybe if they had kept their tactics on the download, they wouldn't have to deal with this streaming pile of nonsense.
I feel like many fad technologies, most of it's market isn't people buying them for themselves, but as gifts. With birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, Valentine's, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc etc etc, it's a huge pain to get a gift that the average adult: doesn't already have, hasn't already received, and haven't bought for themselves by spending 5 seconds on Amazon. With fad technologies, at least there's less of a chance they already one. (Or even if they do, it's OK, because you're buying them the newest, shiniest one!!!)

And the very next post, 1 minute later is..... wow. Well done.
They're going to be screwed once they hit Step 3.
< should work.

If I skip the ads, will I lose my merits? I pedal hard for them!
I'm sure this announcement will help Kojima and hurt Konami. Good riddance.
Most billionaires probably have garbage advice, once you separate out the survivor bias. That said, this tidbit makes more sense than most.
My first choice as well, with Journey as a close second.

And that's the problem with Linux. You spend more time fiddling with settings to get something to work than you do getting work done
Only if you consider consider "not getting work done" a problem.
