Believe it or not there are still a few honest sources for news. CBC is a good source, and have for many many years reported both sides of the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Fox on the other hand has a serious bias, which is sad and a dis-service to genuine news reporters.

I find it so annoying that people collapse, and give in, when some corporation / public insitution tell a person to stop doing something.

I've been dealing with a pharmaceutical company for over two years and am currently the target of a lawsuit for libel and interference with economic interest because of my website. However, without the website, many people would be unaware that this company had serious violations the Food & Drug Act. But it needs to be said, and I won't back down.

Take a stand and hold your position. Most of the time if you hold on long enough you will win.

A year later we are still fighting. Legal threats, vilification and the always fun 'disgruntled employee' were his weapons of choice.

The funny thing was that because I used Linux, for the server, and he didn't know how to operate it, he blamed me for it? He portrayed it a some sinister plot to control him.

Of course I put a website up detailing his behaviour http://www.snakeoil.ca/.

  11. Poor SGI on Pro/Engineer Coming to Linux · · Score: 1

You really have to feel sorry for SGI. They were in the Linux game years before most companies but the software support wasn't there (PTC included). Now they axed all of their Linux services and hardware only to miss the boat.

Combine this with Weta (sp) in New Zealand buying 150 shinny new Linux workstations, from IBM, and you really have to think that SGI didn't make a very smart business decision.

Same issue with the Taliban, the more we hammer them the more extreme they will become. Remember it's a few individuals that ruin it for the whole. Also, I have noticed some backlash to RMS lately, probably becuase he is so extreme in his protection of the GNU projects.

Anyway, without money Linux will always be first runner up. So companies that try to make money with Linux should be applauded not attacked.
