The exercise of creating a USB key that mimics a floppy drive with those F6 drivers is nontrivial. Just give me a floppy, or tell Bill and the Redmond Insults to change the installer ever so slightly and look at all media for those cursed drivers.
Vista includes multiple methods of providing drivers rather than only the Floppy; USB, Floppy, CD, and I believe network drives.
From Dictionary.com: An explosive device used to destroy enemy personnel, shipping, fortifications, or equipment, often placed in a concealed position and designed to be detonated by contact, proximity, or a time fuse.
Fits the description of a mine quite well if you ask me.
The claymore is as much of a mine as the S-Mine (Bouncing Betty) which also was used extensively with a tripwire. The only big difference was that you can focus a claymore blast in a specific direction.
Claymore is a mine. Just depends on how you use it. Strap a tripwire rather than a private to the end of it and it becomes quite indiscriminate in what it kills/maims.
As an update (not like anyone will read this as the thread is about 2 weeks out of date), I had to take my replacement Ipod back to Future Shop as it appears the hard drive is dying. For those who don't know if you send something to Apple they will replace it with a refurb unit which isn't necessarily bad but in this case I believe this refurb unit had a bad hard drive in it. Restoring it and even running checkdisk on it (as well as badblocks which confirmed they existed) did nothing. Anyways long story short I am out an iPod for the next 4 weeks as I couldn't find how to send it back to Apple and the 1 year original was out of date in May.
Canada still uses them i.e claymores. The catch is that there needs to be someone that will trigger it remotely not via tripwire. This makes it a somewhat more intelligent mine.
Actually looking at most commercials now they seem to be downsampled widescreen onto 4:3 with black bars on the bottom and top (especially car commercials). It looks like the commercial industry is trying to get ahead of the game. I have also seen this on the History Channel (especially SAS Secrets)
Depending on when in the warranty it kind of makes sense. Although Future Shop/Best Buy/Insert store here may be authorized sellers, it doesn't make them authorized repair sites. So it isn't really a surprise if the product gets shipped off. One benefit I have seen in buying from either Future Shop or Best Buy over the mom and pop computer stores is LCD monitors. As they have a 30 day no questions return policy, if you get home and remove the lcd from the box and see a dead pixel, take it back. Your typical grey box place won't do it, which sucks.
I used to work at Business Depot when I was putting myself through college and heard horror stories about Futile Shop. Suprisingly the last 3 times I bought something from either Future Shop and Best Buy (Ipod, Xbox, and headphones) exercising the warranty was painless.
While looking at buying a bigscreen hdtv, I looked at Costco and found their prices were good but usually at some sort of sacrafice e.g less inputs on a tv. Plus my parents had a tendency at Xmas to buy electronic goods (portable cd player comes to mind) there and I would end up replacing them as they were cheap
we have a few cameras, but they can only result in warnings rather than tickets). Ontario has red light cameras (as well as the old photoradar which was dismantled whe the NDP were kicked out) but they can only send a fine to the owner of the vehicle as they are ultimately responsible for whomever drives the car.
Note - since the rise of cameras at intersections accidents have nearly doubled in some cases as people slam on the brakes in time for the person behind them to collide with them. But remember - it's safety - not revenue.
Disclaimer: This is according to Ontario driving laws, your vicinity may be different but not likely by much. Also note that Amber light in most places does not mean speed up to get through the intersection. It means stop if safe to do so. If you are far enough back and light goes amber you are supposed to stop. If you get tagged by a red light camera, it usually means that the light was already red when you entered the intersection.
Rainbows - some people see them, most don't (under normal conditions). If you don't see them in the store, you're not likely to see them at home. There are ways to "try" to see them you can use in a store.
I never saw it in the store but I have experienced it a little (really little) at home. The worst movie I saw it in was Batman Begins and also every once in a while in CSI. It seems if there is a dark scene with small amounts of white I will see it but it is really rare. I could see how it would be annoying though if we experienced it a lot. Supposedly it is something physical with certain people's eyes.
The one thing that annoyed me when I first got it though was sync issues between high def video and audio. It would sometimes be out by what seemed like half a second and was completely random. Haven't seen it in a while though (knock wood).
Personally I would have gone with CRT but it seems in Japan, you can no longer get tubes bigger then 28".
Sounds familiar, I was originally looking at replacing a 25" CRT with a 36" but then comparing prices with the LCDs and DLPs I decided to go bigger and forget the CRT (plus they were pretty limited in what you could get even at the 32" size.
The idea of moveable mirrors kind of concerned me until someone pointed out that it may be easier (and cheaper) to replace the mirror unit on a DLP than to replace the screen on an LCD if you experienced burnt out pixels. Although Plasma is nice picture-wise I was concerned about burn-in plus the price difference for a plasma tv (for me) is not justifiable anymore when compared to the same size in DLP or LCD. So I ended up getting a 46" Samsung DLP.
I bought a Cat Eye computer for my bike yesterday and now they come out with this. I don't see any reason why someone can't introduce iPod based cycle computers at this point.
Might be that in a lot of places it is illegal to wear headphones while riding a bike (not that it stops people).
I'm sure the same thing could be done with any of the Resident Evil or Dynasty Warrior titles. Are they all to be relabelled "mature" now? Or how about The Sims? You can remove blurring effect and then all characters are nekkid.
OMFG your kid will die or be a vegetable if they get vaccinated. Their attitude is no better than the gov.
The only satisfaction I get out of these attitudes is that if there is an outbreak they may think twice about what they have said at their kids funeral
As for encrypted mail from outlook, does outlook use some kind of proprietary encryption? I've never encountered such mail, most people use pgp which most certainly can be used under BSD.
By default Outlook doesn't encrypt. However it does leverage Microsoft's Crypto API which will use PKCS#7 compatible certificates if they have been imported into the CAPI store.
The camera shake bugs me as well and it has to go at some point. It is even more annoying on my 46" DLP.When I watched the first season on my old 25" fisheye tv it wasn't as bad but now I find that my eyes are always adjusting for the picture.
MINOR SPOILER AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED ALL OF THE FIRST SEASON
The thing that bugged me about the new one was when Thrace (Starbuck) was back on Caprica looking for the arrow and met up with the resistance. I swear they were driving Hummers (H1). They could have at least modified them so they looked different.
Avril Lavigne? So we have Canada to blame for this pox. First Celine and now Avril. C'mon Canada, what the hell did we ever do to you? Well, other than that lil' Southpark song thingie... Please, for the love of humanity, take her back and freaking keep her. Perhaps there should be DRM up there. It should keep Avril Lavigne songs from being played anywhere but within the Canadian borders and at the same time prevent any music but hers from playing within the Canadian boarders. That'll teach 'em!
All that said, there is Paul McCartney proposing to extend copyright to over 90 years. A BBC-world talking head commented (in complete dead serious voice) that artists were afraid they would not "have bread on the table" if copyright was not extended. But maybe this was also influenced by the music industry.
Time to get Sir Paul out skiing and throw a couple trees in the way. Should have done that earlier in Sonny Bono's career as well.
Sorry I have to rant.. You know what other sound byte that they use ALL OF THE F*CKING TIME? The one with the quick chirp of police siren usually at a crime scene when a police car approaches. Every time I hear it, it detracts me from whatever I am watching as it is just as distinctive as the Wilhem scream (end of rant)

Sorry I forgot to put that in. No points.

Wasn't there a study saying something like 60% of traffic was bittorrent?

(Meant somewhat tongue in cheek) Sorry I have a life. The extent I will follow the show is in watching the episodes.

Otherwise I am actually enjoying the show
