  1. Re:Meh on Apple vs. Microsoft, By the Numbers · · Score: 4, Insightful

Overpriced compared to what? Compared to Microsoft? Apple has year-over-year EPS growth numbers that are over twice as high as Microsoft's. Stock valuation is based on expected future earnings growth. If you said that Google or Amazon are way over-priced compared to Microsoft you would have a legitimate argument since their earnings growth thus far has only matched Microsoft yet their P/E ratio paints a different picture. Let's focus on facts instead of vague hand-waving.

The Unreal Engine has no problem scaling to whatever hardware you give it. Compared to various PC configurations this should be much simpler. Sure, Google is still king of search, but it hasn't been able to get much traction in other areas (e.g. social networking). The article was written from an investment point of view not technological. As an investment GOOG has been disappointing for the past few years compared to other tech leaders. So this begs the question whether or not its "best days", as an investment, are past. It still remains to be seen whether Android will be able to contribute significantly to the company's revenue growth. The key word is growth, MS still continues to make tons of money, but their future growth prospects remain dubious which is reflected in their stock price.
