Is it because the advertisement that is dumped on your machine when you install those are related to the music industry and as such they will let them do whatever they want?

I know Napster was clean on that part, i am beginning to think that it's juts because they refuse to add crap to their software

  3. Or Maybe on Brains Hard-Wired for Math · · Score: 1

That chimp selected the 3 because it looks like a butt or a pair of breast when you look at it sideways.

Joking aside, the number 3 is a representation that we could have made by drawing something else but it was that drawing that made the cut, how would a chimp decipher what we humans have taken for granted that 3 means well 1+1+1, and is represented by the 3

We put names on stuff, the word one and the digit representing one was not always there. We can only assume that those numbers are derived from finger counting one finger looks like 1, 3 fingers looks like well 3 fingers sideways but what about 2 or 4 or 5 6,,,,they dont fit, so the chimp, apart from finding the drawing appealing does not mean it has a mathematical value in it's head.

There is a big problem with that statement.....User wanting the changes, you might have the greatest idea in the world but if you have no followers, you will not be seen as the guy who makes life easier but the guys who wants to change the routine and some employees and VP and other older staff will not want these changes simply because they would have to learn something new.

I know, i have the best example of an employee here who wants everything to show in windows explorer, if anything like a shortcut to a resource is on her desktop, she will not find it and go berserk, every time i wanted to facilitate her work she goes berserk because she is entrenched in her old ways. the new way would prevent calls and accelerate her work but nooooooooooo.

i have seen people boasting about their understanding of the internet and all those nifty gadget they speak about ya know,,,E-mule, Kazzaa, Bit torrent, Messenger and they are the same that usually get hacked and or get loaded with viruses.

technology users do not rhyme with safe usage of it.

And that girl they talk about well, you cant turn your geek switch off when you like computers, you either like it or you dont, learning out of necessity does not make you the hottest tech around and will not assure you a nice place but again that depends on where you want to be, most of the Bosses i had, had half the knowledge i possess but that did not prevent them from making decision for IT but in some case it can be a hindrance when the person over you does not know the implication of what she or he is talking about.

Then you'll get Apple store calling to get the cars remove because it will say that it's their parking space bla bla bla.

4 parking space is not going to get more customers in the shop + consider the fact that downtown Montreal as a subway that goes everywhere so who really needs to park in front?

If they really want to park somewhere, they can go to place Ville-marie, park in the subterranean parking and buy diner and they will get free parking (unless they changed that policy, been a while i went there)

  25. Re:Hi, I'm Kahei on German Physicists Claim Speed of Light Broken · · Score: 1

    i found something interesting

"The effect is even worse than you might think because of what is going on inside the ship. After all, everything inside the ship, including you, is speeding up, getting more and more energy, and getting heavier and heavier. In fact, you and all the machines on the ship are getting pretty sluggish. Your watch, for instance, which used to weigh about half an ounce, now weighs about forty tons. And the spring inside your watch really hasn't gotten any stronger, so the watch has slowed way down so that it only ticks once an hour. Not only has your watch slowed down, but the biological clock inside your head has also slowed down. You don't notice this because your neurons are getting heavier, and your thoughts are slowed down by exactly the same amount as the watch. As far as you are concerned, your watch is just ticking along at the same rate as before. (Physicists call this "relativistic time contraction.") The other thing that is slowed down is all of the machinery that is powering your engines (the dilithium crystals are getting heavier and slower, too). So your ship is getting heavier, your engines are getting sluggish, and the closer you get to the speed of light, the worse it gets. It just gets harder and harder and harder, and no matter how hard you try, you just can't quite get over the light barrier. And that's why you can't go faster than the speed of light."

If mass is the only problem in order to reach the speed of light or to go beyond it then,,,,, if,,,,,in a thousand year, they find that they can shield something so that there is no effect on the things inside so mass augmentation whatsoever is not a factor and that the engines used to propel this machine have sufficient power why then,,,could we not go beyond.

We could also get a cruciform creature like Dan Simmons's Hyperion and just get reconstructed after coming out of our travel
