  1. Ofcourse on Can AIs Create True Art? (scientificamerican.com) · · Score: 1

When I look at a lot of 'modern' art, I really question myself what people actually call art.. So if a lot of 'modern' art that's created by humans is called art, then an AI can also create true art..

  2. Re:False premise for DRM. on Hitman 2's Denuvo DRM Cracked Days Before the Game's Release (arstechnica.com) · · Score: 1

Well, DRM/copyprotection was needed/introduced due to people copying it from each other.. You can't dismis the fact that without DRM people would just buy 1 copy with a group of friends and copy it among themselves (that happened a lot in the past). If people in the past just bought a copy and not share it with others, then there was no need for DRM/copyprotection, it's due to that that companies had to try and find ways to protect their income.

Refuling might be an option, if they still had a shuttle operational. But at the moment there is no shuttle operational (at least not publicly) for doing support missions like these. And I guess a small drone won't be good enough for completing a task like this..

  4. But the title and article suggests it depends on exercise, and not just fit..

  5. And then you go check funding for the study, and the interest of the team and you'll see a big chain of fitness stores funded it.. no limit to fitness? BS as it also puts a strain on your system. And we've seen more than enough unhealthy living people outlive healthy living people..

  6. But once the actor has digitally scanned him-/herself, the digital actor won't age, and do exactly what you want and doesn't act like a diva. But yeah, he/she won't be available for peanuts..

  7. We've all driven behind a diesel car, and even the newest diesel cars once in while blow out a hefty black cloud. That cloud might not contain CO2, but it's a dust of fine particles that's not good for your health, and contains other pollutans..
Also it might that those batteries are created with polluting electricitygrids, those big plants are easier to replace than all those small cars.
And I'm pretty sure if you dive into the funding of this 'research', you'll find it was backed by a few big oil companies and others that have an interest for keeping diesels on the road for the time being..When I look at the name of the company that did the research, it all smells like BS..

Ahh, I pulled that out of my ass... I guess you haven't heard what for instance microsoft is doing in their research department (and with great succes). And google is also doing heavy research into that field, also with good results already.. Maybe not today, but very soon (next decade) it'll be at such a point where it can replace complete IT-departments without a problem.

Tell me this, what to do if there is no job, noone wants to hire you?

  10. Well, instead of saying BS like enslavement, come with a solution that's better. With the increase in automation due to better flexible robots and AI it won't be long before jobs are getting scarce, it's not about IF it's gonna happen, it's about WHEN it's gonna happen. Even IT-jobs are getting replaced with AI. And people still need money to pay for food, housing and living, so unless we make everything free (which is never gonna happen ofcourse as everyone would want a villa then) there will be a need for a solution like basic income. And in regard to 'enslavement', aren't our current jobs not already a form of 'enslavement' as I (and most people) don't work for fun, but for money to be able to buy food, housing and living.

  11. And they do that for free? This is just plain extortion to get them extra money for 'repairing' your device even though 3rd parties are quite capable of doing the repairs (ofcourse that will void the warranty).

That ofcourse is just blatant moronic. So you need to have at least a femame on board, even though she might nog be suitable for the job.. Does this also mean that a board that consists of only females should also have at least one male? because if that's not specified in the law, than the law is disciminiatory.. The board should consist of suitable PEOPLE, not specify a gender..
This is really just a stupid law..

But if it pays better than my current (development) job, where can I sign up.. Still looking for content that really traumatises me, still haven't found it (PS. that doesn't mean I enjoy the content, it just means I'm not traumatized by it).

  18. Re:Define ionizing vs. non-ionizing radiation on Some Northern California Cities Are Blocking Deployment of 5G Towers (techcrunch.com) · · Score: 1

But the fact is, there still isn't conclusive evidence that the G4/G5 cellphone towers AREN'T a health problem. Provider payed research claims it's not, independant research claims it might... Problem is, we still don't know the longterm effects of extra radiation like Wifi/mobile etc.. It's the same a bit with powerlines, it used to be said that it wasn't a problem, but now we know powerlines do create a health problem.
And looking at some studies in regard to cellphone towers, it seems there is an increased ammount of people with cancer related diseases who live directly near a cellphone tower, but ofcourse that also may have another cause.
But the fact is, you cannot say with certainty that a cellphonetower has no impact on your health, just like a cellphone itself (where multiple studies do see an increase in brain tumors).
But as cellphones itself aren't that old yet, it's still not clear what real impact in long term they have on our health.

  19. You've got to be kidding... This is just going too far. If people are offended by terminology that has been in use for a very long time, and has absolutely nothing to do with actual slavery. Go get a life.

  20. that's what i really hate about this, you already have the hardware, but it is restricted through software..

  22. Why should I care about these people? if you make $500.000 a month with live streaming playing a game.. Stop moaning and just stop live streaming or cutting it back.. Sorry can't have any sympathy for those people if they complain, they do it to themselves and their bankaccount isn't complaining.. A lot of people have to work a lifetime to even earn $500.000, let alone having that ammount of cash as a reserve on their bankaccount (most people don't have that).

This is again an article that's written from a perspective 'in the eye of the beholder'.. What is agile exactly? there are different opinions about it.
Does agile work? Yes.... but in most cases it doesn't if it's exactly as one has written the 'agile rules' (whatever those exactly may be)..
There are so many different ways to good development, and Agile is just one of those 'tools'.
If you've been using 'Agile' for ages, you're propably so accustomed to it, you don't even know if it's really the best way. And in most cases, it's just a name given to a process people have been doing for ages, but never have given it a name..
You need to find a middleground, and do what's best for your company/team.
This article was clearly written by someone who sees Agile as his only holy grail... And 'we' IT people tend to stick what we know best and think the rest is just 'not so good'...
