  1. That's really childish of google, especially as Google is only using the 7 day deadline when it's due to a security risk if it's already being actively misused, but it isn't. Normally they have 90 days (or sooner if they notice it being actively being misused).
So why did they release it with the 7 day deadline? well we all know why...

The article is missing some vital information, making it look like it works excellent. BUT it really doesn't, it only works with 0,5 meter range and only detected the stuff correctly if it was in a specific position... Wake me up when it works in a range of 3-5 meter (a normal passage way in a subway/airport/whatever) and detects it correctly in any position. Also wonder how it works if one would line the inside of a bag with aluminiumsheets (or even some copper wiring)

  4. That's just blatant fraude, no building (except maybe some wooden outhouse toilet) is worth $200, especially not one owned by Apple. Why aren't these people in jail? If I were to do it, I would have been in jail immediately, but Apple can do whatever it wants.. If you circumvent paying taxes, well yes, then your bankaccount can accumulate a lot of money..

  6. good configuration on When Working in Virtual Reality Makes You Sick (medium.com) · · Score: 1

Biggest problem with VR is that people just take the headset (from another person) and start using it. You should first configure the headset (if possible ofcourse) as good as you can (IPD, Focus), doing that reduces the effect of motion sickness in a big way.
But if you keep getting sick, than you should look for another job/position.

  7. But he's right.. a lot of websites load much MUCH slower on modern browsers and highspeed connections than (not even) 10 years ago, and the information it shows hasn't changed. So a lot of garbage is used in designing these modern websites. A lot of people who call themselves webdevelopers aren't real webdevelopers, if their WYSIWYG editor doesn't show it correctly, they don't know how to fix it, and only know the components that come with it, but real "HTML 5" is not something they know.

  10. Ok ass-hole, the restaurants mostly have different menu's than the cafetaria of those businesses. It's a bit like restaurants bitching about a MacDonalds that lands in their neighbourhood and takes all their customers.. And those cafetaria only serve employee's, not outside people, and not everybody is working there... Ok ass-hole?

  11. that's really a very fascist move, forcing a company to not have a cafeteria is ridiculous. This is going too far (I guess one of the people who came up with this plan has a restaurant him/herself (or one of it's friends) near those big companies..
Companies should be able to decide for themselves if they want to have a cafeteria to cater for their employees, having to go out to a restaurant also takes a lot of time so people will have to be away from home longer than necessary, only due to some stupid politician not wanting companies to have their own cafeterias for their employees..

Also not everywhere where it's digital only there is a good sign before you enter that it's digital only, so how to deal with customers who don't want to pay digital and only cash (you should always be able to accept cash, even if it's at one station and it's station has a timelock of 10 minutes in case of robberies).

  13. Right now it's still in a early learning proces, and it's a tool to help doctors. So what if it, at this point in development, makes the unsafe/incorrect treatment? It's not like doctors are right all the time, and doctors also have been well know to prescribe wrong treatments. Or, maybe the system did know about it, but calculated the risc factor of the patient dying anyway if he didn't get treatment.
But we're still at the beginning of having AI determine stuff like this, and yet Watson is already very well on the way to becoming better than most doctors, so let's see how Watson handles it in ten years, maybe by then I'd rather have Watson diagnose me than a real doctor..
