To sum your post up concisely: the difference is the objectivity of the statement. You can't be charged/arrested for having an opinion. You CAN be charged/arrested for an untrue objective statement.
It might be just me, but that seems like a pretty presumptuous thing to assume. Just because I look at something means I can change it? My interpretation of the whole paradox wasn't in the observation, but the interaction with the object being observed.
Also, I bet Einstein's ghost is set to embark on a century long bender after reading this post...
While I've been using FF for a long time, I have to admit I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. I googled some of your terms and found a plugin for firefox. Is that what forces the others open? I tried both links. The first was "addon not found" and the second came back with a message saying "version 0.2.2 was not compatible with Firefox3.0b1." (A lite version.)
Do you happen to have instructions? I'm really serious in that I just want to revert back to the 2 versions...I have a powerful computer and don't really care about a few hundred megs, and my plugins are too important!
I've been using the beta now for about a week and am actually getting sick of it. The only plugin that installed for me was Adblock+, I want my noscript, gmail checker, tabmixplus, and downloadbar if nothing else!!! The "places" feature is sort of cool, you can click a folder in your bookmark toolbar that shows you all your most visited places, recently visited places, and you can even star sites (to the right of the address) and it will fill up a "most visited starred" and "recently visited starred" sites lists too...
Still, I want my plugins back!
BTW, I've been using Firefox since the.X days. This is what I've found:
Version:Avg Mem Usage(KB):Peak Mem Usage(KB):CPU time/day average (minutes, I'm a heavy user) .X : 85k : 300k : ~1:15
2.0 : 175k : 315k : ~45
3.0b1: 125k : 175k : ~25 Now keep in mind I have only 1 plugin vs. maybe 6 to 10 before, but the loadtime is definitely much quicker now too.
I didn't save numbers for 1 (I didn't have it very long.)
Why? I've had more problems with my SONY WEGA TV than my 360. Microsoft's tech support is MILES ahead of SONY's.... Seriously, TRY to call their 800 number. You will not reach a human for at least 30 minutes unless you happen to know the magic number sequence (which I eventually wrote down after having to call that damn number a half-dozen times.) Microsoft is an automated voice that requires you say the word "agent" and you'll be connected to a human in less than a minute...
Given the support headaches I've had with SONY, I won't use their products or services anymore. My 360 even red-ringed, I called them, sent it in and 3 weeks later got it back. Yeah, a pain in the ass, but compared with the 4 months I had to wait (AFTER it took them a week to "register" me...wtf?!?) for a new back-light for my brand-f*cking-new TV (with a brand-f*cking-new and EXPENSIVE SONY warranty) that was NOTHING.
Wow I've been waiting to find someone to ask this to for years, finally a relevant forum: When I was in my pre-teens, no more than 11, I was given a chemistry kit for hobby purposes (a tricky little way my parents could pull me off the NES: SMB, Jackal and Duck Tales were the best!)
One day, little ol' me decided to add a few more ingredients to the chemical stew I was in the process of trying to change colors, and for whatever reason I happened to grab the Clorox from my mom's laundry room. I have no idea (and this is what I'm asking help on) what was originally in the Chemistry kit box that would do this, but instantly upon pouring the Clorox in the mixture (that was already brown) started emanating a very translucent, greyish smoke. It was INCREDIBLY smelly, and when I told my mom she forced our family to evacuate the house, and the fire department had to come.
Again, they never told me what I'd done (in the hopes I'd never do it again) but I've always been curious... Who DOESN'T want an "instant stay at a hotel" button?:-) Any insight?
You can get filters to automatically update for Adblock Plus, but it's a game for me to use Adblock and find every little ad/script I don't want that slips through!
Actually, DSLreports.com has a google-maps mashup too. I was wondering (living in NY) if it were available for me...No sauce, looks like Auburn though which I can almost coast to though!
I learned the simple act of "monitoring what you share" early on when my first experience with someone downloading from me was the casual result of the misspelling of a picture/filename on my computer. It was supposed to say "Prom 2002" but the guy found it because I instead typed an N instead of an M.
Please please PLEASE don't give SONY any more ideas for Playstation 9 (you know, the one that reads your mind?)

why do people mod offtopic when they themselves don't even know what the topic is?
Maybe I'm not saying it loud enough.
SO APPARENTLY ARIEL TOO HAS...*splat*
(reload!)
So apparently Ariel too has a Cleveland, Ohio?
Nope

Your momma's so big we used her ass-crack as a fallout shelter.
If black-listing is your thing, why not try Adblock or Adblock Plus?

Oh yeah? What's your number?
Hey just as a disclaimer, if you actually DO this, go to start > run > and type "shutdown -a" (remove the quotes) and hit "ok"
stands for: shutdown abort
wow way to shoot myself in the face, how about S c hoemaker-Levy 9-- damn
--beckerist
Shoemaker-Levy 9 impacted Jupiter, which while in cosmological terms might be nearby, is certainly not THAT close to Saturn!</nitpick>

I've been careful ever since.
