  1. Re:Just do it! on Senate Approves 4-Month Delay In Digital TV Switch · · Score: 1

Likewise. No snow with the digital signal, just the sounds drops out first then the video turns into choppy blocks. Analog with a tiny bit of snow was fine, no sound and blocky picture sucks.

This isn't on all channels, but I used to get about 20 different channels on my rabbit ears and now I get about 25, but most of them are repeats (3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4...all show the same thing 90% of the time, or the weather...meh)

I think the switch to digital is healthy. As I understand it it requires a lot more bandwidth (spectrum?) to send analog vs. digital, therefore that same bandwidth can be used for other things. I just wish it wasn't losing one (quality) for the other (quantity.)

Being a nerd implies a lack of social grace. Being a nerd also implies a thirst for knowledge. It's hard to "learn" behavior if you've already been socially (and mentally) stamped into a box. I personally think this is a cool idea for a class. Just think how YOU would respond if they brought in Jeri Ryan as a guest speaker!

    I have an honest question:
How many people here truly think that if there were an anomaly that they would be able to survive without
    A) Electricity
    B) A grocery store
    C) Modern medicine -and most importantly-
    D) Fresh (clean) water

I know for a fact that I'd safely have A, B and D. I live in the woods anyway, huge garden, plenty of animals to slaughter for tasty bbq and we have a very high water-table with multiple ponds around. Not the cleanest but I'd figure out a way to survive.
I'm just wondering about statistics here.

It's not hard to set up a page that looks exactly like the front page of anything. cfhttp does it for you (if you are for CF.) At the very least, a site could be hijacked, a cfhttp to the IP of the server could easily be set up, and the forms could be hijacked to steal your password. Slashdot isn't probably the most likely target, but I'm sure there are plenty of people here who's /. password is their email (or [insert any service here] password.)
