"For every four Americans working a 50-hour week, every week, there's one American who should have a full-time job, but doesn't. Our rampant unemployment problem would vanish overnight if we simply worked the way we're supposed to by law."
I am an hourly worker that loves overtime. My wife works 3-5 hours a week due to having MS.
My Grandfather worked 2 - 3 jobs in order to make enough for his family (his wife did not work either.) Overtime allows me to work substantially less hours for the same amount of money than the hours he had to work.
I wish people would stop trying to "help" out by taking away things that a lot of middle class people need.
Sure, I've got 5k available. That's enough for one good ER visit, maybe a cast and an ambulance ride, or just a few minutes in the OR. $5000 isn't even a drop in the bucket in terms of potential financial liability for healthcare.
You missed his point. His point was he doesn't need to pay a fortune for a plan with low deductables since he has $5,000 saved for emergencies. He would rather keep more of his money and have a plan with a $5000 deductable than pay more for a plan that has a $200 deductable.
I hear this a lot but there are some problems with this stat, the chief being that people get to vote multiple times so basing the amount of votes on America Idol to the amount of votes in elections is not fair comparison.
Also, we would probably have a higher turnout on our elections if people could phone or text in their votes like they can on America Idol. But I actually don't want people to lazy to go to the voting booth voting.
True. I remember Obama make a huge selling point over Hillary in their debates that he would never force a mandate on people for healthcare. He did a good job making himself seem like a moderate version of her.
Debates are easy when you don't bind yourself to the truth.
Coscto had 2tb external usb3 drives for $70 and 3TB usb 3 drives for $110 just last week.
I bought one of the 3TB ones and love it. I know it is probably a "green" drive inside, but I am just using it for storage anyways. It is fast enough for anything I want to play off of it:)
I mean airlines that can't cut costs because they can't cut positions or pay.
So, basically you are saying that unions are bad for keeping pay and benefits for employees, while all the other dumb-asses who aren't unionized are getting the shaft from their employers, in the form of increased hours, reduced pay, and reduced benefits, making it increasingly difficult to get by since the price of air travel, automobiles, etc. are increasing. I believe that's called... sour grapes.
When someone is hired, they are not guaranteed a job for life nor are they guaranteed the benefits to remain the same for their lives. At the same time, jobs aren't guaranteed to be able to keep an employee for life. Lots of jobs help pay for college or training only to see the employee leave once they have that degree or training.
The idea that if a job is created, the company has to keep it forever (or is considered greedy) is amazing to me. No wonder employers would rather pay overtime than hire another employee.
I like hearing about how it is evil for companies to "hoard wealth" and then hearing from the same group how irresponsible companies are that didn't when they suffer an economic fall and don't have the reserves to survive without bailouts.
I save money wherever I can in case something happens such as job loss or other unforeseen hardships. My household includes my wife (who has MS and whose treatments cost a small fortune) and a 12 year old daughter and our household income nets less than 50,000 but I manage not to "easily" spend all my money.
The USSR ... didn't want anything to do with the war originally, that is until Germany decided to invade them anyways.
Tell that to Poland
You read a different article then.

If that correction was true, then why didn't we launch under Regan or Carter?
Adaway works for me.
It's even open source. You need root, first, though.

That doesn't change my point

I know the anti-nuke crowd hate the DOE
Who doesn't?
What does the BBC have to do with us? Or is this effecting the British too?
That's not a real comparison.
I have less on my credit cards than Bill Gates, but he is not more bankrupted or in debt (in comparison to what he brings in) than me.
Herman Cain offered an app for both the iphone and android.

I checked online with my apartment complext. There is a large fee for paying by credit card (same as my last apartment.)
Pay your bill using a credit or debit card! ($50.00 minimum transaction. A small convenience fee will apply)
For my electric bill (which is a utility owned and run by the city of San Antonio
> Pay By Credit Card (through Chase $2.50 convenience fee)
I am not sure what the fuss was on this. You could still pay by check for no charge. Why was the FCC even involved in this?
I agree. My mom loves it and my wife loved it for the few weeks we borrowed it when my mom was out of town.
We use xbmc for our local stuff, but Roku is a great netflix box.
You need the cable box to decode the signal. If none of the channels are protected then you don't need the separate top box.
It adds transparency to see what money is being spent where.
Another reason is to avoid these budget battles that result due to not having a budget.

China loans money. They do not give it away. They are smarter than the US in this.

Runaway inflation? What planet are you on? Inflation has been quite low for YEARS now. The only significant price increases have been in fuel and food
I love this! Inflation is low except for food and fuel. I would consider those the two most important things to worry about.
I was wondering what that meant too. I figured it was a specific desktop environment (I was wrong.)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WIMP_(computing)
I don't know why they didn't just say "move away from a conventional desktop interface."
I laugh when I read this. Most of the people who claim to support Ron Paul would disappear the moment he was chosen as the Republican nominee.
I would love to see a liberal vote for someone that wants to remove the EPA, the Department of Education, the FDA, etc.

What public services are you talking about that the rich use more than the poor that and do not have to pay for already?
