What if it mean you could never, again, walk safely down a public street, or go to a beach without a team of 'muscle' security following along. Never go to a concert except in antiseptic 'box' seats.
What are you talking about? It's not like he is Osama Bin Laden for God's sake. He's yet another corporate white dude that probably only 100 people in America could pick out of a photo array right now.
Not many more, I'd say. He was delivering a speech or presentation somewhere a few months back. He was stumping for support of some legislation or another, I don't even know what it was. But I laughed out loud when he said that he wouldn't be alive when this legislation gets to doing whatever it was meant to do.
But hey, if Hef can get to 91, who's to say Brown isn't the goddamn Terminator?
I think the word he wanted was "fascism" but I'm not sure that's entirely accurate as fascism is one among a handful of different types of corporatism.
He said "flip the switch" which could reasonably be interpreted to mean existing products. Regardless, specific models of iPhones would be a technical detail. His statement was without any technical detail whatsoever (beyond 'switch'). There is an ulterior motive here and it has nothing to do FM broadcasts for hurricane victims and more likely to do with the FCC poking Apple on behalf of the NSA. I know that sounds like tin-foil hat talk, but these days, nothing is outside the realm of possibility and nothing seems to matter anyway.
Instead, they should be held accountable for any damage any consumer might have suffer from because of the breach.
That's a nice sentiment, but the problem seems to be proving damages suffered because of the breach. You can't hold them accountable (financially responsible) for something that might have happened. My information making it into the wild on the back of the Equifax breach does not exclude the possibility of the same information getting into the wild from some other source. No criminal is going to commit fraud while also indicating "hey, this data is from Equifax!"
I sure hope all the system design engineers who haven't considered "air gapped systems and the USB port threat" are reading slashdot. You may have just saved the day!
I waited until the last season before I accidentally caught an episode of Breaking Bad in a hotel room one night. When I returned home, I started watching it on Netflix. Ultimately, I waited years before I started watching the show and life has gotten on pretty well despite this atrocity.
Perhaps more than that, death is the only desired outcome. Nobody pulls out a firearm to simply immobilize someone. Well if you're dead then you're immobilized, I suppose...
And the only reasons corner stores stay in business is because they accept food stamps as payment for liquor
No.
Maybe there are some less than reputable stores who do, but as a matter of practice, this is not the case. In most states, you will lose your liquor license for this -- not worth the risk.
Just look at some of this bullshit:

This is Normal Shit.

Woosh.
Doesn't mean she can't strip...

When it leaks out through your baby, I bet you change your tune...

Proving damages is the difficult part.
Why do so many people insist on comparing the Tesla auto-pilot feature to an aircraft auto-pilot system? Their similarities end at the name.
But, but, they didn't know about the breach when they dumped their stock.
Didn't the 2008/9 recession literally begin when Bush turned out the lights in the oval office and walked out the door?
Can you just say "shits"?
Alternatively, let's have Tesla offer two or three different battery hardware configurations and increase the price for everybody! Hooray!
Yes, you do, citizen.
We will be using the bricks from destroyed Mexican buildings to construct the wall.
And nothing of value was lost. For me anyway.
Sadly, many people do not move on, and that's all it takes for Left Shark to become reality.
Full disclosure: I'm a fan of Left Shark. Really liked his work there.

User name checks out.
Well, to be honest...

I refuse to take any advice on HIPAA from someone who says "HIPPA", and, in fact, stop reading the post as soon as I see it.
