  5. while ARM chips have their place in the market, tablets, cheap laptops, i cant help but use the car analogy on them, ya i can make a 2 cylinder car engine with 200bhp, but how long will it last against a decent 4 or 6 cylinder running heavy work for hours at a time? They just feel anemic under load compared to a low end X86 processor...

    This AI is just a straw man, the police know where to go but cant because they get accused of racial profiling, now they can just say " I was patrolling "area X " because the AI told me to....

    yes, but this IS a new company, Apple was an established business already, had a long term goal, manufacturing contacts, and an engineering team, Musk bootstrapped a company from nothing and there are going to be issues with that, also he did pay back his DOE loan plus interest, more than a lot of startups have done!

    The Tesla is to electric cars what the iphone was to mobiles when it too launched. Its a game changer, everyone else has to play catch up now, but in ten years there will be viable competitors, probably for less money.
    Kudos to Musk, he damn near perfected an idea that a lot of people had a crack at, and all pretty well failed, miserably. That said, he's going to need to 6 Sigma the hell out of this product as its a whole new sub genre of automobile, and fair enough, he seems fairly proactive in his recalls. Too many people get hung up on the cult of Musk, and forget he's just a guy, with drive, ambition, and a plan. He will fail at some things, but he has managed to disrupt two entire industries, autos and LEO transport, thats no small thing...

    The last time I had to be in one, its was like a KMart from 20 years ago, poor, uncovered fluorescent lighting, drab interior, no nothing staff, Smyths seems to be the better version these days

    Dropped it? You do know these are the easiest phon a to work on right? Parts are extremely cheap , you can replace a screen in less than 10 mins, the back covers snap off and many colours are available. I really hate that MS abandoned the platform, for business , there was nothing better, having Office on a phone was pretty nice, too bad it's all dead and just hasn't fallen over yet.......

    structures that would not survive launch G's would be the obvious answer. You can 3D print something that is 80% empty that is perfectly acceptable as a beam or truss for space construction.
